#631 Re: Guns N' Roses » Will the next single be something we've heard already? » 198 weeks ago

There has been no indication Axl intends to contribute any new vocals or lyrics to this project. And yet they are planning to release an album.

That means there are either enough unheard vocals and songs already recorded from the CD sessions to make up an album, or they are waiting on Axl to create something new. The latter does not appear to be the case judging by Slash' statements, so I think the chance we will hear something new, either vocals or a completely unheard song, is pretty good.

If on the other they release Oh My God and State of Grace the latter scenario would appear almost definite.

Our tech guy has been incognito for...a few years? Not really anything we can do if there's a problem.

If anybody got those skills please let us know. 14

Val was my favorite actor growing up and he is still in that category. I can watch that movie "Alexander" almost just for him. That guy could do anything. I'd struggle to name any actors today who could do similar. Somebody like Bale would be the closest thing.

Fate has been very unkind to him, though to be fair he brought a lot of it on himself.

Yes I did watch the Snyder cut. I liked 300 and Watchmen so I always check out his movies.

I thought Ben Affleck was great in it. The best Batman since Keaton. I loved everything he did in that movie. The story idea was not bad, could have been good. What ruined it was:

Eisenberg, can't stand him.
Henry Cavill, he's a bad actor.
The action was bad.
Visuals were ugly and too dark.

If this movie had the qualities of Watchmen it could have been a very good movie. Not better than Returns though, Snyder just isn't in that league of directing.

I miss the 2001 lineup heavily. Not in the sense that I wish they were here now, but there was real quality in that band and they were not trying to be a nostalgia act. When you listen to the VMA they sound amazing for a live performance. If Axl hadn't failed that night it might have ended different. Dream scenario they would stick together until 2006, release a few albums and then we get a reunion.

Pitman I was always fond of going back to when he was kind of a meme in the band. He didn't seem like much at first but was underrated like Paul Huge. In theory there should be no issue for him to continue in the reunion, but he had to get drunk and do something stupid and I feel for him.

Ever since I saw Iron Man 2 I decided I wouldn't pay attention to the super hero genre anymore, with a few exceptions. Then the other day I got tired of watching the same old shit so I decided to pop in the Avengers. Big movie, I remember it broke records when it came out but I never saw it.

Now I watched Batman vs. Superman and I didn't think it was very good. I saw Winter Soldier and thought that wasn't half bad.

This movie I managed 25 minutes before I had to turn it off. I was so bored the whole time. So unimpressed with everything. It made me re evaluate Justice League, which is still crap but infinitely more talent went into it than this Avengers thing. I was going to watch the sequel but that is definitely not happening now. Why did this make a billion? I don't get it.

I'm not disputing that money is their religion, but they will accept decreased profits if it means staying out of the cross hairs. Just like a company is concerned about following the law, this is also becoming a de facto law: if somebody accuses you of being a bigot, you are a bigot. So better stay very safe. This could be as innocent as simply "misgendering people". Insanity is taking over across the board, even in terms of money. Would you pay not to be targeted by the mob?

Ricky Gervais did it recently, has gotten away with it so far. But he's got a 100 million so he can afford not to care. Everybody else your livelihood is at stake. I reckon I wouldn't last five minutes in a modern office environment before being fired.

It's not something Russia and China can fully control either. Western guilt syndrome has been a thing since Martin Luther at least. Once that lost its grip and people became godless they latched onto liberalism which has now morphed into this insane religious substitute. With Christianity you had Jesus to absolve you of your sins. Liberalism offers no such end game. All you can do is double down until you cut your dick off.

The corporations would be pushing it even if it didn't make money. They fear being labeled bigots more than they fear losing money on a project.

The last time the West had any fight was 1945. We're just going to have to suck it up for the next hundred years at least.

#640 Re: Guns N' Roses » Sympathy for the Devil recording date? » 199 weeks ago

I think he would. Not because he had anything against Gilby but because he needed an ally in the band. Dude was a hired gun so he could make up any excuse he liked to make it happen. He did that gig with him in 2000 so there doesn't appear to have been any hard feelings, which again points to the decision being "business" and not personal.

Axl should have followed his instinct with Sympathy. Initially I'm guessing he balked at the idea of doing another cover song after TSI, but then convinced himself it would be good promotion. All it did was promote the idea of GN'R as a pop culture joke.

Still a great song though.
