I heard of this years ago. I always thought it was just some stoner sitting around listening to Pink Floyd while Oz was on tv muted. Then had a "moment of clarity" as only a stoned person can.

I took it as a given that you had to be stoned for this to work. When stoned any music will sync with TV with humorous results though 16

Yeah I think it became popular about 10 years ago. I never did it, but heard there's a few things that do sync up. Jorge probably listed them all, I should try it one day.

And DL it's funny you say that, I remember Howard Stern talking about that & saying "you can sync up any cd to any movie & something will work. In fact, if you play my movie and (some cd, led zeppelin or The Who or something) it will sync up. Just watch it." It was pretty funny.

I don't own a landline, so I need the celly. I need a computer at work, but at home, I could manage without it, I'm trying to learn photoshop & dreamweaver though, so I'd like to stick with it. I'm a tv junkie, no real shows or sitcoms, just crap like Cops & craziest videos & VH1 classic & stuff. I don't even own a video game console, so that's it of me. Although I played GH3 for the first time this weekend, and am thinking of getting a Wii.

Lovie Smith & Cinci's coach are on the hot seat next season. Playoffs or they're fired. Trent Edwards & Derek Anderson were probably the QB's I was thinking of, and Garard. Glad to see Norv Turner did finally win a big game, not the big one, but pretty big. SD put him in a tough spot. I expect Marty to coach somewhere next season. He certainly should.

I noticed. 34 pages of thread and not 1 DTJ post 16  wink  Isn't that some kind ROV record?!

Anyway, good to see NYG & SD pull some upsets. I just hope LT & Rivers can play to at least make it a game. No offense to NY'ers, but I'm hoping for a GB/NE Super Bowl, and would like to see Favre pull some magic!! Romo did take a step into reality today, fairy tale season is over abruptly, and I cannot believe Dallas has NOT won a playoff game since 1995 or 96?!  That is unreal. I can't wait to use that next season against all the annoying Cowboy fans I see. That has to be one of if not the longest current streak in the NFL. Also, I expect TO to make some comments about this team losing that will be controversial.

I forget, I thought there was another good young QB that broke out this year, can't think who it is. If Garard can continue to play as well as he finished this season he'll be a very reliable starter. He doesn't make mistakes. Also, he hasn't done much but it'll be interesting to see if Leinart plays well next year.

Oh well, as for me, I'm already excited for the draft :wtf:. Don't care much about these teams. GB/NE would be ideal, but I'll watch a NYG/NE matchup too. Would love to see SD upset NE. I just hope the NFL & ref's don't fuck up next weeks games in an effort to ensure GB & NE get to advance. I'm pretty sure the NFL doesn't want a GB/SD matchup in the Super Bowl if you know what I mean.

Anyway good season so far, off season soon approaching. Should be alot of interesting moves. Especially at QB (Jets, Balt, Chi etc).

Chargers need LT & Rivers, otherwise it'll be very difficult. I hate to say it, and admit it, but I think NE is getting close to being the greatest football team ever. Teams just hope to slow them down, not stop them. The only way they'll lose is in a relatively close game, Brady or someone (Welker, Moss) fucks up and turns the ball over in the 4th quarter. Otherwise, they will not lose. They'll just keep putting pressure on the defense & closing in on the end zone, and 50+% of the time they score. Usually a TD.

They can lose, next week or the SB, nothing is guaranteed, but if they don't, I'd put them up as the best NFL team ever, with possibly the 1985 Bears being the only team that could beat them. Because of their great defense and having Walter Peyton. Don't get me wrong, I hate this team, but like Michael Irvin my hatred is turning into respect. Also, (again IF they do win it all & go 19-0) I think people will be comparing them to the other great teams of all sports. I know I haven't seen anything like this since the 90's Bulls, with Jordan's desire and owning his opponents to force a win. I guess there've been some great Yankee teams. And the 80's Oilers with Gretsky, Messier & others.

In other words, Axl would have received funding for $$  to open a McDonalds in your neighborhood over 10+years ago. You & your neighbors would be all exciting over this, can't wait for it to open. Construction begins, the place is built, and remains vacant ever since. You & you're neighbors keep talking about "how you can't wait for this McDonalds to finally open". Hmmmm, sounds fantastic, how can I become an investor in this franchisee venture?? cool

Oh, I didn't know he was a #1 pick. But I think the hope is that 7-10+ years from now, $10 mill/season isn't alot of money, so at that time down the road it'll seem like a bargain.

Of course, the problem is if these players do live up to and axceed expectation, they can always hold out to renegotiate their salary. So it doesn't reeally benefit the owners much.

#6598 Re: The Garden » Food that you crave and must have at times » 957 weeks ago

Haha, I like to have ice cream too, even though I only eat it about once a week or so, sometimes not even that. I'm not big on candy or chocolate either, but oddly enough whenever I eat chinese food or hot wings, the next day I crave chocolate. I worked with a guy who had the same craving after chinese food. Not sure what it is. I love chicken wings, try to eat them about once a month, just eat a bunch of them (20 or 30) & watch a game. And I eat pizza or cheesesteaks every weekend. Sometimes both, but every weekend it's one or the other. Also, I never cook on Friday or Saturday nights. It's just my thing.

#6599 Re: The Sunset Strip » Revenge of the Nerds: Geeky Writers Ruin Prom Night for the Cool Kids » 957 weeks ago

I don't understand this strike at all. At first I was for it, because they are supposedly holding out for wages from earnings off web rebroadcasts. Who knows what the future of TV is, possibly HDTV computer monitors & downloading shows. With that said, they have to look ahead, and take an example of the Gilligans Island cast who sadly didn't forsee syndication rights and lost millions as a result. But recently I heard the Union has now lost more in lost wages (due to striking & not working) than they were originally holding out for. Now, recent studies shows there has been very little dropoff of overall TV watching, even with broadcast reruns. Even among the 13-25 agegroup, which were predicted to drop the remote and go online. I wonder if writers were hoping they had a future in web produced series (currently there's a show "Quarterlife" among others online, but with promotion from Myspace and Youtube, it failed to gain a significant increase in views) and hoped the networks would either pay them more, or begin to also produce direct to web shows, but with the lack of increase in online viewing, it could be a failed venture. Either way as more time goes on, I'm not really sure who, if any are becoming the winners in this strike. I think the only think helping the writers are big events like these (Globes, Oscars, Emmy's etc) and the fact that (from what I read somewhere) the actors & Directors Unions are up for negotiation this summer & will likely hold out for the same thing as the writers.

So Ovechkin signed a big contract today.  $124 million over 13 years.  I think that by the end of that deal, Washington will have a bargain.  But I thought the cap era was supposed to mark the end of big salaries in the league.  I'm also not sure about all these long term deals.  15 years for DiPietro, 12 years for Mike Richards.  At least Ovechkin is a superstar who's likely to still be worth his cap value in 13 years.  I'm not sure about DiPietro or Richards.  If any of them get injured, the teams are screwed.

Yeah, I was really shocked about Mike Richards. He's ok, but not worth signing for 12 years?? Not in my opinion at least. DiPietro makes a little more sense as goalies are a little like Piutchers & QB's, hard to come by. In 10 years $10mil/year will probably seem cheap, but the problem is if it is the players will probably hold out anyway, to renegotiate. I can't blame the teams though in a way, look at Brodeur, fortunately he stayed with NJ but if he ever left that franchise would not have nearly been as good the last 10+ years.

CC, I agree about Downie. Hockey doesn't need goons like him anymore. Thankfully Clarke isn't our GM anymore, because reportedly Paul Holmgren ripped into Downie. Clarke however (Executive VP or something) commended Downie & said that's how the game should be played. No wonder the Flyers went into the toilet last year under Clarke as he kept bringing in goons and muckers & grinders while Buffalo & the NHL went towards Russians & speed.
