Having guests is quite a bit different than having 1 guest sing lead (when your ONLY talent is singing) on 1 song with contributions to 2 other songs (or 2 more leads if whoever said that was correct), then using that guest's lead to promote the album. If you don't understand that, I can't explain it any clearer. It's apples and oranges.
On another note, who said music is music? Somebody said that earlier (I think in this thread) and it is one of the most uninformed comments I've ever seen. All music is not the same and if you think it is, then you lose a lot of credibility. Rap and rock aren't even in the same ballpark musically. Everybody here should know that.

That doesn't happen on the 2 Eminem albums I have, but whatever. The point is still the same. Axl is being used and everybody seems to be ok with it, so enjoy. I don't want to see any of you complaining down the road.

I said something to this effect recently. Being a good singer and a good frontman are two totally different things.
That is the truth. There are a lot of people good at one but weaker in the other and only a select few that really nail both aspects. Those select few are the true elite.

I'm about 2/3 of the way through it. It is an interesting read and probably the most accurate information on what was going on through the growth of the band.

Again, you're comparing apples to oranges. Even with the poor comparison, how many rappers have the same friend do 3 songs and take over the lead for a whole song? Never. It doesn't happen.

I really can't see how this is negative, fine if it's your opinion but I just don't get it. That was more then backing vocals on Don't Cry, Hoon sang the whole song with Axl and Coopers part was pretty big on The Garden and look at Ain't It Fun with Michael Monroe so this really isn't all that odd. Even if it's 3 on one album you had Hoon on 2 songs on UYI's and in the video of Don't Cry to boot.
You're grasping for straws. Hoon on 2 songs (one you can't even hear and the other as a complimentary voice) out of 30 on an album where other band members sing some songs as well isn't a big deal. 1 solo album (his first in ages) by a guy who's only value to music is his voice gives way to somebody else on at least one song as the lead and some contributions to 2 other songs AND THEN allows the song the other guy sings lead on to be used to promote the album doesn't strike you as being even a little odd?
DTJ, you're usually more open minded then that. I'm not surprised that some people only see this as a good thing, but I am surprised that you are one of them. Surely this isn't all doom and gloom, but it isn't some great thing either and the odds of bad consequences far outweigh the good.

I agree with russtcb completely. RoV was never a web address or something that was owned by anybody. It was the collective body of contributors to the site and to the community. The community grew because of what we all gave to it, not because of whoever owned the rights to the name or graphics. He can have RoV there, we'll keep the great community we built here with whatever name we have.

There's plenty of people on here that the negative doesn't "find".
I personally don't think you're bashing because you're disagreeing, I think you're bashing because it seems like you're always looking for something negative to say.
You aren't getting it. I'm not looking. I don't have to look. It finds me, it finds a lot of others willing to look at things objectively.
I know I'm not the minority outside of the gnr world and it's pretty clear that I'm not in the minority within the gnr world. Most people see it even if they don't want to. Some people try really hard to ignore it and the rest would never see it no matter what happened. That is the vocal minority.

Shannon Hoon sings on You Aint The First
Really? It wasn't even noticable. How is that equal to the Baz/Axl situation? Apples and oranges.
