I was flat out astounded when that woman got off in the Myspace case. I mean, to me me, that girl (problems or not) killed herself because of things a fictitious person (played by the other girls mom) said to her. There has to be some accountability in that doesn't there??

I think the problem is they can't prove it was the Mom. She had a daughter around the same age as the girl, and like a 19 yr old who worked at the house for a small, home based marketing business. I'm sure all 3 were involved (well, at least the Mother & Daughter), but it would be hard to prove who did what. Each of them could deny it. I don't know the law all that well but I can see how it could possibly make a challenging case in court. I guess rather than draw negative attention to the town, they just dropped it.

Glad to hear the neighbors are taking it into their own hands & shunning them.

Actually I plan on taking off from work the day it's released. Seriously. Anyone else??

I was all set to in '06 when the tours started. I thought that was going to be the year.

I was thinking about htis yesterday...is it basically the same thing as far as bands and labels are concerned, just not at such a large scale? do used CD sales contribute to the present demise of the record industry? Labels and Bands make no money from Used CD sales, but yet it is an acceptable form of purchasing music... hmm

No, because I remember used CD stores from the early-mid 90's being popular. Every now & then a new one would pop up. Nowadays, I can't remember seeing any new one's, the one's that did open in the 90's have closed, and I bet some longtime stores businesses have dwindled, and hence closed. I think a huge "used CD" market was college kids. These kids now download the stuff anyway.

If anything, downloading has affected used CD stores business as much as new cd's.

Just MHO.

Well, it's a cool trailer... but it's a 3 minute trailer. I wouldn't start making claims of greatness yet. And I certainly wouldn't compare Heath Ledgers portrayal to Jack Nicholson just yet. Settle down, back of the line. And I mentioned the sequels weren't really that good, but if your going to knock the Penguin, can I say that the tool who played Scarecrow in Batman Begins was awful & ruined the film by basically making those scenes boring. Pretty awesome how kids were more scared of a fat guy in a Penguin suit than that 'mo.

This could explain why Lohan is keeping a very low profile regarding acting jobs. She knows what her fate is, and is gonna delay the inevitable hoping her star rises again somehow.

I'm glad its finally coming to an end, and its time for Hollywood to pay attention to actresses with talent and class such as Natalie Portman, Mischa Barton, Ellen Page, etc. and whatever new talent comes along.

I agree, while I think Lohan is somewhat of a good actor (at least in Mean Girls, that's the only movie I've ever seen her in) their options now are star in some really bad movie the only reason they are casted in it is to give the movie some attention.... or withdraw from acting unless the perfect (small) role comes along in the perfect movie. Otherwise, make a quick buck here & there in magazine's and reality shows & shows like Entourage.

I read an article about a similar phenomenon years ago when rap artists started becoming cast in movies. All these black actors (Omar Epps) were getting passed over for guys like Master P & DMX. It was hard for black actors to break in. The role of Bubba actually almost went to Ice Cube, but he turned it down. (I actually think Ice Cube is a decent actor).

It's taken a while, but you're right in that now the cream may rise to the top, and these party girls will be relished to B-movie careers or staying home.

This is kindof sad... but the family is loaded so I'm sure they can manage. It's just this girl has no idea on how much life she'll be missing out on. College, parties, bars, clubs. I know she'll still be in the nightlife but I can't imagine it's quite the same when you know you have a kid at home.  hmm Hmmmmmm, then again, look at Britney.
16 is very young though.

nooo, its not a prequel to Burton's Batman.   They are completely different if you look at the storylines.   But yea I did like the first Batman alot, but Batman Begins a little more, and all the sequels to the first batman gotten progressively lamer.

Maybe it's not a "true" prequel in terms of the storyline, but the movie totally uses Burton's vision for Batman. I think I heard when he first began making it the studio's were confused because it was too dark & Batman was black. Completely different from people's perception of Batman (cheesy 60's show).  Burton "re-tooled" Batman. This new series is just using his vision. No re-tooling involved, just starting over again.

I agree with you the sequels were pretty bad. With Batman & Robin, well, I never bothered to watch that one. Looked worse than a pile of dogshit though.

What about those 4 out of 5 people that say Im going to down load

WTF are you talking about??? You make up arbitrary numbers such as "4 out of 5 of you" then later state them like they are a fact?!

Will people download CD, yes. Alot? Probably. People from this forum without ever buying it? I don't think so, not many at least. And certainly not 4 out of 5. Maybe 1 out of 5, although I doubt that. Maybe 3 or 4 ppl never buy CD. Why? This is a Guns N Roses messege board!! We've waited long & hard for that moment to come. Have alot of us downloaded albums in the past 2 years?? Yes. Probably bands like PJ, RHCP, Foo Fighters, Buckcherry etc.... and some of us might DL new U2, Metallica & Green Day. But it's different because this isn't a Green Day board. It's not a Pearl Jam board. I bet most PJ fans on their messege boards don't DL their album, same thing with U2. They BUY their own baands album, DL the rest. Some ppl here don't like VR, and downloaded it. But not everyone here is a VR fan. I'm pretty sure everyone here is a GnR fan and if not.... out of curiousity what are you doing here?!

4 out of 5 is ridiculous, quit making up #'s.

#6680 Re: Guns N' Roses » Chinese Democracy - will you or won't you » 960 weeks ago

I'm pretty sure everyone on this board will buy it. If it leaks early, I'll probably DL it also. But I'll buy it just for the casing, cover, lyrics, pics, artwork etc.  I'm old-skool like dat!
