#6781 Re: Guns N' Roses » Interesting read on Axl, touring, albums in Slash's biography » 932 weeks ago
Slash only said he forgot 3/4's of his time in Gnr for publicity & to make it sound like he was so f***ed up all the time. If you take that statement literally your as crazy as Axl. Besides, he can still write a book about the other 1/4 he remembers. So what's there not to believe??! Axl locked himself in a room & refused to leave. It happens 2 or 3 times each tour. Big deal. I remember reading about his refusing to go onstage & needing therapy before shows until midnight back in the early 90's issues of RS. He also bit a security guards lag at the age of 44 at 5 am in the morning? Don't you believe that. He's a wacko.

Lindros to Announce Retirement
The Associated Press
TORONTO -- Eric Lindros is expected to announce his retirement Thursday after 13 seasons in the NHL, according to a report.
The 34-year-old forward played for the Dallas Stars last season and became an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. He had 372 goals and 493 assists in 760 games for Philadelphia, Toronto, the New York Rangers and Dallas.
Lindros is expected to announce his decision at a press conference in his hometown of London, Ontario, according to The Canadian Press wire service, which cited an anonymous source.
Lindros won the Hart Trophy in 1995 and was part of the Canadian Olympic team that won gold in 2002, but he also battled injuries throughout his career.
Lindros was regarded as the NHL's next big star when he entered the league but he got off to a rough start after he refused to play for the Quebec Nordiques, the team that drafted him first overall in the 1991 draft.
The Nordiques traded his rights to Philadelphia a year later and Lindros flourished with the Flyers, winning the MVP award in 1995 and scoring 40-plus goals in three of his first four years.
He was traded to the Rangers in 2001 after clashing with Philadelphia general manager Bob Clarke and other Flyers officials, largely because he questioned the medical treatment he received while with Philadelphia.

Out of curiousity, who do you feel was the best hockey player of his age group (@33-36)?? I ask because being from Philadelphia I rooted for him, and saw what he did and felt he was best. I think in the 90's he was up there, but then he really fell apart. Although, it seems alot from his era did. By his era, I'm saying players like Federov, Teemu Selaane, Shanahan, Keith Primeau, Jagr, Sakic & Forsberg. If there's someone else I'm missing please mention him. Honestly I'd say Brodeur too, but I'm trying to exclude goalies. I'm not a huge hockey fan, and am curious to know your opinions.

The last thing I've ever expected was to see the BCS spread. It's a lousy system.
Part of the beauty of the NFL is that anything can happen. The BCS takes that away. I get having the two 'best' teams play, but part of the fun is seeing a team barely make the playoffs and then go all the way.
Any given Sunday doesn't exist with a BCS style finals.
Right. Also, a BCS would be exciting this year in the NFL, because alot of people do want to see NE-Colts as the big game. But it wouldn't have worked in years past. Seattle-Pittsburgh 2 years ago, nobody expected them as the #1 playoff teams. I think they were both wildcard teams. 2001 Patriots came out of nowhere that year. And the 2000 Ravens. It would work this year, & maybe once in a while, but most often it would be a frustrating nightmare deciding who should be in. It's bad enough seeing it happen with college, fortunately I don't have a "favorite" college team, I just enjoy watching it.
James, yeah right now NYG AND DET are 6-2 while Seattle is 4-4. If that keeps up I'm pretty sure Seattle could get home field advantage for 1st round against either of them, even if they both finish 11-5?! And Wash could stay home at 10-6.

#6786 Re: Guns N' Roses » Baz now claims 4 GNR albums exist » 932 weeks ago
Also, NOBODY EVER claimed there were 4 albums that are done.
NOBODY has ever claimed that the ball is now in the record companies court. I don't think all this talk is for nothing.
I thought Baz claimed the first & Mysteron claimed the latter

Absolutely. I don't play video games anymore but when I did play football I would sometimes choose to play in the snow.. And take a good running team

At first I thought it was a joke... turns out, not so much. Does anyone honestly plan on even visiting that site let alone posting there alot?
No, and I wouldn't think many people would. It's like you said, I don't care what you call it, this is where the posters I recognize & enjoy reading & sharing info are. Why would I leave. To be honest I'm surprised he's starting up another site. It'll be very slow, especially at first until he recruits people from a variety of site. Not necisarily this one.

Sources: Suspected Cop Killer Caught in Miami9 a.m. news conference LIVE on 6abc.com!
by the Action News Team
PHILADELPHIA - November 6, 2007 - Police in Miami have caught the suspected killer of Officer Chuck Cassidy, according to sources. Security camera video showed John "Jordan" Lewis boarding a bus for South Florida during the weekend.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lewis was apparently arrested by U.S. Marshals and FBI agents at a homeless shelter in Miami around 7 a.m. this morning. It was about 10 blocks away from the bus station. Apparently, the bus driver was able to identify him and told authorities.
Police officials tell Action News they will be holding a 9 a.m. news conference at Police Headquarters in Center City.
According to investigators, the 21-year-old John Lewis purchased a round trip bus ticket in Wilmington, Delaware bound for Miami, Florida on Saturday night. Sources said when he arrived in Miami late Sunday night, he tried to cash the return ticket for cash. Lewis argued with the teller, who refused to refund his money.
The FBI had been searching Miami to try to find Lewis. Philadelphia police asked the FBI to add Lewis to its most wanted list.
Action News has also learned that Lewis worked at a Dunkin Donuts at Broad and Erie and at another one, part time, at Rising Sun and Roosevelt Boulevard, just a few doors from his mother's house.
Lewis' former co-workers that talked to Action News all said the same thing: they are stunned. He never struck them as the type of person who could kill someone.
"He didn't seem like the type of person that would do anything to nobody," said Tamara Hayes, a former co-worker.
"He was so nice," Kiani Clark said. "He was really nice. He didn't seem like the type that would hurt a fly."
Locally, investigators recovered two weapons during their search for Lewis on Monday, Commissioner Sylvester Johnson said.
Johnson told reporters during a late Monday afternoon news conference that the weapons were recovered while serving a warrant on an undisclosed location. Sources told Action News reporter Sarah Bloomquist Monday night that police positively identified one gun as Cassidy's 9 mm Glock service semiautomatic taken after the shooting. The second gun does not match one owned by Lewis' mother and missing, but tests are still being done to determine if it is the murder weapon.
Sources also told Action News that Lewis appeared in Philadelphia court last Friday for hearing in an unrelated case, but that was more than a day before Lewis was identified as a suspect.
Police also seized a vehicle as part of the investigation just before 7:00 Monday morning. It is a blue Mercury Grand Marquis. Police were planning to search the car for evidence linked to Cassidy's murder.
A viewing for family and friends of Officer Cassidy will be held tonight starting at 6:00 at Givnish Funeral Home at 10975 Academy Road. A second viewing for the public will be held at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul starting at 7:30 am Wednesday followed by a mass at noon. Burial will be private at Holy Sepulchure Cemetery in Cheltenham.

I would agree with you James, and I used to feel that way, but I worked in Customer Service at the Electric Company here & you'd be shocked how much $$ alot of these people owe. Plus, there are currently alot of laws about how & when they can shut off electric, and alot of loopholes for these people to get around it & beat the system. I'm going back 10 years or so but alot of them owe $5,000-$10,000+. Not only that, but we could see their payment history, and they hadn't made 1 payment all year! That's why I said that about not showing effort. Alot of power companies do & have to set up arrangements for these people. If they cannot and are not willing to make something like $50.month then maybe they need to adjust their living conditions & spending. I remember one time a lady screaming & yelling at me about how she's on welfare & how can she pay her electric bill if she only gets $600.mo of welfare & has 3 kids or something.. I felt bad, there really is no answer, but the very next call was a sweet old lady who was on welfare, and called up to make sure we recv'd her $50 monthly payment. Isn't really fair if one party is responsible & the other is out there getting cable & HBO & buying the latest CD's & stuff.
It wasn't isolated incidences either, I'm talking every day I would speak to these people. You'd be shocked, the majority of them aren't shut off for just missing 3 or 4 months of billing. It happens occasionally, but they're also the one's who eventually ccan either pay to get it back on, or the company makes arrangements for them to do so.
