Well its definitely not song 2 from the leaks...and august 25th seems very soon, I find this very hard to believe.  Crazy how many rumors there are though.

It does huh, but then again...but then didn't someone on here say it was on the 3rd quater schedule at Uni? And that would make it around aug i think smile

Is that before the game though? I can't see the album comming out before the game. You would think the game would be 'just' before to build anticipation.

The problem is, because movies are made for money first and artistic reasons second, and the rights are owned by the studios who make them for the money, by the nature of things, EVERY movie franchise WILL continue until a BAD movie is bad. It's ironic huh. Like this is the perfect way to end the series. But batman is a billion dollar franchise...and there is ZERO chance of WB not making another movie when this one is making them millions of dollars. Businesswise they'd be insane if they did that!

In terms of speed I think Gilbert is faster than bucket. Michael Angelo Batio is faster than anyone. But of course there is more to music than speed and precision...there is song craft..and that's where everyone gets back in on the act...

While I won't say that Bucket is better than Slash, I will say that since he left GNR Slash hasn't written anything that good.  I don't know if it's because he got lazy or lack of inspiration but he hasn't written anything that would come close to his GNR days since he left.

I think the reason some find the songs not as good is the lack of Axl though. Guitar wise the riffs on It's Five O'clock somewhere are similar to AFD, and the solos are UYI esque. It's just that the overall song is less good as it's missing the other people's contribution. The work of 1 member of a 5 part team will never be as good as the work of all 5 when you are dealing with people as talented as Axl, Slash, Duff, Izzy etc

It would be interesting if Bucket came back - would they get bumble to play robin's parts? and keep richard?

I recognize his tremendous talent.  I'm just more into metal/hard rock and less into experimental stuff.

Good call...I think that's what i was trying to say!! The experimental stuff is interesting and impressive, but I'd trade it for a good solid hook, a killer riff, beautiful lyrics and an impossible solo anyday smile

James, I think there's a rehearsal vid of Discipline floating around the net as well. Of course, if you're going to buy The Slip, you'll see it anyway.

Here it is:

I like robin a lot more in this kind of context.

Bottom line is he is an industrial player, Axl recruited him to make an industrial record, which he may have done (find out when these 4 albums come out) but then toured the world making him play classic rock that isn't what he is good at.

I see this style, and his 'alien' look as his true immage, and him playing Mr Brownstone and his 'jesus' look as him trying to be a guy he isn't.

I like this rehersal footage though.

Sometimes I'd like to see GNR in this kind of context. Like live pro-shot footage with perfect sound in a small setting to really get a look at everyone! Imagine footage like this of say a song like CD or Rhiad! It would be awesome!

Vai is incredible, a true master craftsman.

Wasn't there a rumour that Buckethead was Vai at one point?

Hehe...wouldn't surprise me....they both have the ability to pull theatrics while playing impossible parts, both play incredible guitar stuff, both use a lot of toys like pedals and stuff....except the scale is wrong...bucket is like 7 foot tall....

Just some quick thoughts. I saw this last night and it was fantastic. It got s little too "big" near the end but overall it was amazing.

Darth Vader will always eb the most iconic villan in my opinion but Heath's Joker si the greatest villan performance of all tiem in my opinion. It fucking killed it. Jack's Joker is a joke in comparison.  I was totally hypnotized every tiem the Joker was ont eh screen. Oscar deservng for damn sure.

Christan Bale is by far the best batman and Bruce Wayne in my opinion. he is now the classic Batman actor.

As for m concern with Maggie Gylenhall Taking over for Katie Holmes. Well she sucked I thoght. They might as well have cast her as the Joker with that stupid shit eating grin she had on her face every tiem she deliverd a line. Honestly Katie Holmes was much better in my opinion. Maggie played the roel like it was supposed ot be one long saracstic joke. terrible.

Yeah i didn't like her at all. Terrible casting choice I think. My only issue with the film really. Agree with basicly everything else you've said. Except I think it should be said that the writing plays a MAJOR role in all this too....it isn't just that these are good actors (which they are) but its that the movie is written to let them actually shine as opposed to the earlier films that took good actors like Val Kilmer but gave them nothing to work with....
