I agree. He is doing something that is incompatiable with an active GNR. So he is either out of the band. Or GNR is planning on entering a dead period for 12-18 months. Either way is bad news for fans.

If anything I find the silence more likely to suggest there is some problem, as the band is more likey to denounce things as fake when they are.

Hope your right. I'd really dig a new song.

James Lofton wrote:

Cornell would NEVER do it. He would laugh at the offer.

Then he needs an ego check. He is a great singer, but Soundgarden was a smaller time band than GNR, Audioslave was cool but its not like RATM we're not well known....and his solo stuff is going nowhere.

#9274 Re: Guns N' Roses » My Current Theory » 944 weeks ago

Just seems like robin comming back for "limited engaments" while otherwise touring with NiN wouldn't create the impression of a cohesive full band like you'd think they'd want to for the release of CD.

The bucket back idea seems to be being brought up a lot. Is there any hint that bucket is back though or is it just that a lot of people seem to want it.

I don't think theres a reunion with the old line up happening either. Although Scott and Robin quitting at once is maybe God's way of telling Axl and Slash to stop kidding around wink

Another possible theory. Some say an album was turned in and rejected in 02. Maybe this album negotiation whatever it is, as been so hard to solve that axl has begun chaging the album again...and robin can't take re-starting it for the zillionth time....

I wish one side would give us an update...cos right now it could be anything...could be Axl wears Zebra socks and robin didn't like it when bumble said they were cooler than his spiderman boxers. We're forced to speculate.

I always thought what the OP has as:

"to simulate a call, all the bad of learning evils and your ways around the laws, that keep you up and sitting pretty, on a pedestal of fear, and now you're sleeping like an angel, near the man who reaped it in."

was

"to simulate a call, for the betterment of evil, and your ways around the laws, that keep you up and sitting pretty, on a pedestal up there, and now you're sleeping like an angel, never mind who you gave head"

But then I do have a dirty mind.

So if robin is gone...what kind of time frame can we expect a comment from GNR? Will they wait till a replacment is found?

#9277 Re: The Garden » How did people meet their partners? » 944 weeks ago

Awesome. Thanks for the stories folks - very interesting stuff.

I agree that girls can smell desperation, that you can't force things and its best just to let things happen in their own time.

But I also have to work to an extent to make sure I have some form of social life. As all my friends are married etc, I have no wingmen around...and i'm quite content in my own space, and so tend to let things just casually tick on. Which was fine when i was 23, but I just noticed i'm 30...so like i'm just worried i'll stay at home till i'm 37 without noticing that i'm doing it....so i need to make some kind of an effort. Which isn't to say i have to pick up immediately...but if I spend my life playing guitar at home..well its not like some girl is just going to come to my front door. lol.

I think maybe I'll orginise to do some gigs with my band...that should get me out and about a bit.

Thanks for all the replies anyhow smile

I agree if your a horder the value only goes up with each year and especuially if the band goes into hiatus for years while searching for new member(s).

But there must be people now who have the album and arn't horders. Like the folks at the record company. Obviously they wont purposely leak it and loose dollars. But all it takes is one dodgy employee or dodgy friend/relative of someone to start the chain....

#9279 Re: Guns N' Roses » I wish someone would leak the damn thing... » 944 weeks ago

Surely a leak will come soon then right? Like if the label vs Axl business negotiations go into perminant deadlock, and robin (one of the key foundations of the 'new' era) exiting the band...it's starting to look like its going to be a "never" release for CD..at least in its current "finished" form....surely in those circumstances someone that has the thing will snap and leak it....

Its like the project is cursed. Just as in 04 Tommy heard the final mixes. Now I suspect in 2010 we may be talking about how in 2008 the album was finished and turned in.

#9280 Re: Guns N' Roses » Is this news new? » 944 weeks ago

It would be funny to watch the folks at places like HTGTH who say slash sold out for appearing as guests on other artists records and guitar hero deal with an "osbournes" style Axl show wink

I doubt it would happen. Firstly because if it was going to happen - it would need to have happened already. The album is finished. What will they do now? Film him making the next CD? or hanging out at home before the tour. The news story was how he made the album sans the old band, and with the new musicians..and the whole CD saga..and in terms of a new TV show...that ship has sailed.

Secondly..axl has always been very interested in and taken a lot of care with the image he presents to the public. Remember the rants at journalists who lied. His rants over the intercom at the crew when he thinks he's looking unprofessional. The amount of control he keeps over all things GNR...i can't see him allowing someone like MTV to come in - edit the footage how they wish - and present him, his family, and friends in whatever light they choose - just for their ratings. (Remember what happened to Jack osbourne  - apparently he was edited by MTV to look like more of a brat than he was). Only way i can see this going ahead would be if Axl was given TOTAL control of the edits and final broadcast cuts - and would a network go for that.

Or - maybe he has produiced his own doco about the saga? There was that doco footage floating around a while ago showing him arriving at 2006 gigs remember? I can see him developing some kind of offical record of evnts to go with CD....but i dont think it would be reality tv in the tradiitonal sence.
