Soundgarden “Been Away Too Long,” the first single off of their comeback album ‘King Animal,’ available on iTunes and Amazon starting tomorrow. The song is making its official debut on rock stations today, as our station here played it every hour on the hour since 7 AM.

Sounds great. Much better than Live to Rise. Song was obviously written about his return to Seattle.

Is there any place you can download it as a traditional MP3?
Buy it from Amazon when it's released tomorrow. This is a leak from a station in Seattle jumping the gun and playing it this morning.
No idea why they put it in this format instead of mp3.
Your other option is download, put in iTunes, and create and mp3 version.
Or download a free audio converter.

Download the m4a file (that Saikin posted), open iTunes and convert it to an MP3. The file posted is from the iTunes Mexico Store (where the leak originally came from last night). Yes, Apple screwed up and let some folks buy the track early.

I thought it sounded kinda ordinary too. Might take a few more spins.
Interesting too, Chris sounds more Audioslave, vocally than SG, at least to my ears.

A few more listens, and now I'm digging it. Sounds like a mix of Superunknown and Down On The Upside, more than Badmotorfinger era.
I also like this a hell of a lot more than the Avengers soundtrack song...
