eating pretzels drenched in mustard
that's it right there, brother. funny this thread is talking about malls... watched mallrats the other day. not the best movie, but an awesome flick that captures that whole era perfectly.
for me, first priority was the pretzel stand, then eb games or babbages to play a few vidya demos and check out the merch.

Yup...I've seen this movie tons of times. I love the quote at the beginning with Shannon Doherty where the boyfriend was playing video games and he references the Hartford Whalers. She leaves him by the end of the scene. Never see her again. lol.

So Cuomo….
I wasn’t in the room, so I have no idea what really happened. The allegations paint a grabby guy who liked to chase tail much like the media narrative around Trump’s “grab them by the pussy” comment. If Cuomo did these things, why the drawn out process? This came to the forefront in March, right? He denied the allegations, and supported an investigation by his AG. If he knew this shit was out there, why let his AG do the investigation?
If he didn’t do these things, why are these women alleging he did? This deserves attention because it’s a big moment for reconciling what society tolerates as acceptable behavior and those who allege wrongness. If Cuomo was guilty, and all these advocacy group leaders who profess to represent the MeToo movement were in cahoots to help Cuomo spin a story, what credibility do they have? If he’s innocent, we need to hold those accountable who spin horrid lies for potential fame. Either way, some form of truth needs to be investigated.
But I can’t say I feel sorry for Fredo making CNN look like the partisan doublespeaking chodes they truly are.

I think all the dead old people was worse, imo. The defense CNN is giving for its own coverage is really embarrassing.
It looks like progressives are going to kill the infrastructure deal in the house. This is a bill Biden really, really needs right now.
Apple plans to scan pictures on Apple devices for child porn... Absolutely nothing bad will come from that *it's going to be a disaster* It amazes me they'll protect a known terrorist privacy by not allowing the FBI to open his phone, but what about the privacy of law-abiding citizens? People have been arrested for taking funny naked pictures of their kids. People have been arrested for having pictures of girls who look underage but aren't. And teenagers are well known to take and share naked pictures. Maybe Apple should stay out of law enforcement?

Biden’s DoJ already said they found no fault with the nursing home deaths in NY, PA, and MI. Hell, Biden appointed PA’s Secretary of health who removed her mother from a nursing home before ordering COVID patients back into them, as the under Secretary of health for the feds. Media and Democrats don’t want anyone kicking the tires on this.
I’ve had an iPhone since the iPhone 3G in 2008. I supported Apple when they refused to give the FBI access to a jihadist’s cellphone after a mass shooting. Privacy is incredibly important. But if they implement this new software, I’m swapping to an android. They can scan their cloud servers all day long, but scanning my phone for images they deem naughty, no thanks. NSA already has numerous exploits to gain access. We don’t need Apple creating another back door to exploit security on our phones. Supporting privacy means supporting it even if the bad guy is a pedo or mass shooter.

A couple of things... This Afghan pullout is a disaster. I don't know if Trump would have been any different, but not even making preparations to get allies out, people who will executed, is unfathomable. Why didn't we get out the women and girls? Just ignoring the whole humanitarian angle, which I can't seem to, but depriving the Taliban of women is a smart tactical maneuver, making them sitting ducks when they have to start bringing women in for their "wives."
I'm glad we're leaving, but holy shit, what a disaster.

The census is no longer using majority/minority. It seems people are taking this as the end of white men, again, but seem to ignore the growth is with Hispanics who many identify as white (the census doesn't count that or biracial people who identify as white) and Asians. Interracial marriage is skyrocketing between white men and Hispanic women and white men and Asian women. White women are having fewer children. Guess the two groups of women who are having the most children? I don't understand the appeal of identity politics, it's never as clear as people make out. Whenever it's brought up in a debate that Hispanics identify as white, there's like a meltdown. One reporter called it depressing news. Why? isn't a diverse "white America" good? Nearly every article I've read neglects to add that context.

Canada and Australia are working hard to bring in Afghanis. I still haven't heard what we're doing. Except Biden saying the Taliban wasn't going to take over, now he's disappeared to Camp David without talking to the press......
