EDIT: This was moved from the main GNR section as it revealed album information I and many others didnt/wont want to read. It was posted in response to GNR Forum Sellout - downliner.

Hey everyone, don't post here too often, but wanted to drop in and give you some little morsels to chew on for awhile.

First off let me say that please stop with the CD.com bashing. We don't want to encourage leaks in anyway. It's one thing with no release date in sight and demos of lower quality, whereas the final album with a firm release date carries a different connotation. That's the reason we're being quite restrictive. We want GN'R to do their press and promo in their own time, not because of leaks getting public exposure...

Let it be known that I, myself, do not act a certain way in order to get exclusives from MGMT, etc. I would say the same for other mods, but I can't speak for them. I don't say that to be vague or stir up "oh do they get stuff?" comments, I simply don't know but I doubt it's the case. I'm a man who acts and speaks on his own accord, so it would be disingenuous to speak on other's behalves....

On the topic of Tommy's contributions...he isn't really a huge part of the album, he only has 2 *main* writing credits on the whole album: Street of Dreams and Riad N' The Bedouins but obviously plays on all the tracks.

When Pitman talked recently about getting everyone's influences on the record, he couldn't have been more correct, it's really a mixed bag. That being said, you'll be really quite interested to see who provided a lot of work for the album and it's not someone you'd expect. (Hey I gotta leave some mystery for you!) tongue

And for the Buckethead fans out there, you may have tortured yourself by listening to those godawful skip leaks, but his work is on a good 50% of the record, not main credits, but the solos.

And Brain's work is retained on most of the album however Frank does new fills, etc., here and there. As rumored, the only Frank-exclusive track is "Chinese Democracy".

Want specifics if you don't believe me? Chris Pitman plays the Mellotron and Axl plays guitar on "There Was A Time". His guitar parts were recorded by Billy Howerdel.

There you go. Something to talk about until the 23rd....
James maybe you'll get that Axl and MIA duet on album 2. :-P

I have no reason to fabricate said information, I'm sharing it because I want to, and feel free to fact check me on 11/23. It's my deepest wish that we can put aside the bullshit and personalities in the future and come together as a GN'R community instead of all these separate forums. I hate division. We may have differing opinions about certain things, but I never understood the unrelenting pride amongst certain people across the boards.

Lastly, I really hope that you'll buy the album, personally I feel that it's a diverse masterpiece and can't wait to see what this new incarnation of Guns N' Roses can bring to the table. If this just the beginning, the future looks bright indeed.

Peace,

-L!

you tell people not to listen to the album or download leaks and talk about them....yet you seem to know a fair bit about the album... smells like hypocrisy. here let me give you a hint...this isnt a place to do damage control for CD.com...i dont give a rats ass if you post here but dont come here to explain your forum politics...i'm quite sure you have your own managemenet section and a way to broadcast bulletins 15 you made your bed now lie in it

To Live Free-

Love your perfect timing with those M.I.A. references. I post at cd.com once every other blue moon, but that last time I logged in there and posted a couple times you hit me over the head with a good one.

While I wouldn't say it as harshly, I echo neemo's sentiments in regard to your post. The fact you came here and spilled some info contradicts everything else said in your post and the actions taken at the site you help run. Its not ok for members of that community to hear and discuss leaks, yet here you are going into specific detail about those tracks. Only way you would know that is by having access to the liner notes. In other words, its not ok for cd.com members to "spoil" the album, but its ok for you to do that. That's actually a bit of an insult to the members of that site.

I don't have any issues with you. Like I said to you over there awhile back, you're most certainly one of the best posters there, and certainly deserved the position you received to "clean things up". If any site ever needed cleaning up, its that one with its hundred page threads consisting of about 60 pages of smiley only posts.

As far as your comments about cd.com bashing here, I don't see it happening. Me mentioning I never liked the site that much isn't bashing. There are certainly some cool people there and I have nothing against the site personally, I just never liked wading through a shitload of posts to find a few posts worth reading.

Stop the madison bashing. Especially bullshit regarding her looks.

@Live! I moved your post into the Leaks discussion forum as you went into detail about the album which I really didn't want to read. I don't want to learn who plays on which tracks etc over the internet, I want to see it for myself in the liner notes along with plenty of other fans who feel the same smile

@Winkler: I deleted about 5 of your posts from this thread. Stop posting shit just for the sake of posting.

what an odd post.  i mean i appreciate the new info, but combining that with the explanation regarding cd.com's policies just seemed weird (and a little hypocritical).
