James you definetly need to check out FNM. Apart from their last album I consider pretty much all they've done to be solid. And Cherry Pie is a good catchy album tongue

Yeah I was diving back into the FNM discography too, with the reunion and all, but when Michael Jackson died, FNM vanished into the abyss of my MP3 player.

I still have yet to give that new Dream Theater album a listen.

The new dream theater album is good.
A Rite Of Passage is an amazing song. I could see it getting some airplay if it wasn't for the fact of this being Dream Theater

I found the album to be as Lars Ulrich would say "stock". Well by Dream Theater standards. The only great track on it is The Count of Tuscany.

While a lot of Guns fans do consider this one album, I think for the sake of this elimination, they should be separated. It would be unfair to all its competition. Once it got into later rounds, killer albums would be forced to compete against two records at once.

Good call on Matchbox 20.  Forgot about that.

Same here.

Am I seriously gonna be the only person to nominate Elastica and Sinead O Connor? Both are great records, and while I can understand Elastica not getting many nominations due to the fact not a lot of people have heard the whole record, Sinead's album was huge and I assume most people here have heard it.

Everyone should at least give both records a test drive over the next week or two.

Since I'm the only person who is gonna nominate Echobelly and Luscious Jackson, I may change those picks to help some of these other great albums that might miss the final cut by a vote or two make it in. For example, would suck for an album loved by quite a few people here like Dirt(just an example) to not make it due to me posting Echobelly or Axlin08 posting a film score. 16 tongue

Note to lurkers and active members who don't participate in our eliminations:

Would be cool if you could at least post a list of your favorite albums from the 90s. Would love to see this one truly encompass all the great music from that time frame. The more the merrier. 16

New Radicals - Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too

Thank God somebody else besides me is willing to give that props. That is a killer record, and literally THE best record from the last couple years of the 90s. Deserves to make the cut. Thats another record I recommend Evo members check out.

fair enough... 2 albums it is then.. UYI 2 can replace temple of the dog on my list....
and to be honest.. there are prolly, like 50 more albums i could nominate.. however... i had to keep the list to 50... and everything on there belonged there...
It is, by no means a reflection of the full scope of my musical taste.. it's the records I LIVED ON in high school(and ever since)
