People have accused Guns N' Roses of being sexist, from the lyrics of some of their songs to their onstage horn section of women clad in G-strings. "Am I sexist? The answer is no", said Slash. "We're talking about stuff everyone goes through. It's not that we're trying to make a bold statement. Every song is about experience". He said the all-female horn section was his idea. "It's like seeing a girl driving a Ferrari", he said. "It's something you don't expect to see, but it's cool when you do". He said the horn players wear whatever they want, and they opted for lingerie.

Yeah, like I said: the horn section was Axl's idea. Then Slash thought that it should be an all-female horn section.

I really didnt like the horn section, killed the rock in a few songs for me (live and let die for one)
Did one of the backing girls die? I think I read that somewhere.
One thing that annoyed me about Slash's book was when he was talking about the girls, he started naming them and couldnt remember one of their names. I mean c'mon, it is a book, you could do them the respect of asking somebody and find out before writing the book, pick up the phone or something.
I think his book was supposed to be informal and written in a casual conversational manner but sometimes it was quite irritating, like the example above.

I hated what the horn section did to "Move to the City". There was a great song, that I could not listen to anymore live, and always skipped on dvds.

I quite liked Teddy Zig Zag, the harmonica in Bad Obsession is cool as fuck!
I cant stand the Live Era version of Move To The City, its painful to listen to. Like something you would hear in the lobby of a Las Vegas casino.
The version they played live in 87/88 was killer.

Well I have to totally disagree with all of you. The horn section made Move To The City amazing, totally squashing the Lies version, and I also think the backup musicians & horns added an extra depth to the covers Live and Let Die & Knockin' On Heaven's Door, as well as Bad Obsession, November Rain & Pretty Tied Up.
I wouldn't have wanted to see the horns last forever, but it was cool for 1992, for a 'leg'.

How come so many people have quit his band?
Look at the fucking body count for fuck's sake.
Robin would rather go back and be a touring NIN member than be apart of a band he is a creative part of.
