My FAVORITE performance of Jungle.
After going through the disaster that was the 2002 tour, I started to question if Axl had the passion or desire anymore. His 2002 voice was thin and high. His look was like he didn't care. His performances were like he was going through the motions... Then he came out in 06 a BAD ASS. The entire tour kicked ass. The band was ON. And he was fucking ON.
If this Axl woud have debuted in 2002 with Buckethead and CD behind him... Damn, no idea how far he could've gone...
But this is my favorite GN'R era, next to 87-88.
That is not my favorite version of Jungle ever.

But Rock Am Ring 2006 Jungle is THE BEST performance of Jungle by the new GN'R EVER!

Here's a full version, with the whole song and Imagine medley. Imagine FITS SO GOOD right in the middle there, and Slash just brings it. Axl just kinda hangs out, smokes a cig while Slash jams, Dizzy's over there getting on it, they seem like a band ruling the world, or feeling like it.
Anybody that sees this, and then says "nah, GN'R died after Izzy left"
Still looks like GN'R to me....

I had something like 7th row, but the stage came out right in front of where I was sitting (I mean standing...not much sitting going on), so there was one row between me and the stage and Slash's setup was right there.

That version of Coma is straight up tits and beer.
One of my favorite Axl moments ever is in that version of Coma when he kicks his mic stand back up to himself. It's small, but bad ass.
Hell yeah, and I love that little close up to his face when he does the "Gotta One Way Ticket On Your Last Chance Ride" deal. Total badass rock n' roll moment right there.
And btw, I always loved that line.
"I got a one way ticket on your last chance ride"

Axl fuckin' brings it. Sounds totally awesome and totally horrible at the same time. Slash goes Bucket on the solo. WOW!
Used To Love Her / Philly '88: A glorious fuck up
I love that Philly concert. If I'm not mistaken, they were still opening for Aerosmith at the time and it was right around the time SCOM was blowing up. The raw energy is just insane. You can tell why they were blowing the headlining act off the stage.
