This movie is gonna kick extreme amounts of ass. Looks to be a potential best film of the year contender. I will definitely be there opening night.

I watched the trailer earlier, looked good, pretty creepy. I was kinda surprised to see Liv Tyler in it, has she had roles like this before?

No I don't think so. A definite departure for her. Looks like she is gonna pull it off.

This film is potentially groundbreaking horror. I know there have been home invasion style films before, but this looks like the concept is being taken to a new level.

I have a feeling its gonna have an impact similar to the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre where you are just in complete disbelief at what you just watched, and feelings from the film linger with you for a long time.

Just seen this thread James, this looks EXCELLENT!  I had seen the trailer before and was blown away.  This is definitely one of the few movies that makes me want to rush to the theatre opening night to view.

This is funny. I logged in to my Netflix today to see which movies on my queue were coming next, and Ils is the second of three movies on their way. Plot sounds a bit similar to The Strangers. So instead of groundbreaking horror, this may be a ripoff of a french horror flick.

I don't read spoilers, so I'll be watching Ils knowing nothing but the basic plot going into it.

Anyone here watched Ils before?

Ils aka Them? Can't say I'm a fan. This one looks ... promising, if not exactly groundbreaking. There isn't a lot of good horror coming out these days, especially with big names and studio backing. I appreciate the way this film is being marketed, and it could be a pleasant and fun summer surprise like Wrong Turn was a few years back. But James, I'm a little surprised to see a seasoned horror vet like yourself get so worked up over what, to me at least, seems like an otherwise generic flick. I'll see it. I would have rather movies like Diary of the Dead and The Mother of Tears got wide distribution this year, but I'll support what I can. I hope to be surprised, that's all I can say.

The trailer is a breath of fresh air compared to what movie fans have been subjected to over the years. Yeah, there's other films in the same vein, so I guess in that sense it is a bit generic, but I think we're gonna see some things we haven't seen before.

I pray you're right. It's funny, at the time, 2003 seemed like this renaissance in horror. We've only gone downhill since then. There's a constant power struggle between what the media's inexplicably dubbed "torture porn," which even as a horror fan has little redeeming value, and teenie bopper remakes. In that sense, yes it is a breathe of fresh air. But you'll understand if I'm only cautiously optimistic. Killer poster though. Someone should post it, I can't be arsed. I will support this film, make no mistakes. By that turn, I'd rather be shot in the face than pay any dollars over $0 (and perhaps including $0) to sit through the name-only Prom Night remake. For shame.

Everyone else should go watch a movie like The Burning and then you can join us in wondering "What the hell went wrong in the last two decades?"

I'm assuming you're referring to that original poster that didn't give much away. There are now a few other posters promoting this film as well.
