Probably would be Fridays. Those are release days for songs and albums now.

This exchange happened yesterday.

There is sitar on the intro to Oklahoma, that coupled with them soundchecking a song last year that sounded a bit like it makes me think it's probably that.

How the hell did I forget that?!?

I'm still leaning towards Atlas. There's a long established pattern of releasing songs that were leaked years earlier....

It's in contention though.

Maybe there's a God after all....

That soundcheck sounds nothing like Oklahoma to me, but I suppose we'll find out at some point.

It sounded like the Oklahoma outro. If it's not, they added the outro to a different song....ala Fleetwood Mac/The Chain.

On the other hand...the quality of that clip was shit, was really short, and your mind might fill in the blanks.

Hopefully we'll find out soon.

Fucken GN’R. So many of us were ready to say “fuck this band” for not releasing anything in 2023, and here we are about to maybe get something new released…

Fuck I hate this band lol

Edit. And when I say “new” I mean a 20 year old demo reworked.

Fuck I really hate this band lol

I wasn't kidding earlier this year when I said I was moving on if this year went by without new material.

I know fans over the years get hyperbolic on this subject...but I meant it.

Yeah they always pull us back in at the last second but we're at the diminishing returns stage of this game.

There's no reason not to unload these 20+ year old songs. A handful of hoarders have had them for eons....time to let the rest of the world hear it.

So  if they actually play it, we should expect it on all platforms by midnight?

No set time but they would have to release it within a few days...a week tops...after performing it.

Long gone are the days when major acts road test new material in front of an audience. If it gets performed...you can buy/stream it.

That rehearsal clip does sound pretty good.

Yeah they need a video.

The last official GNR video was...

That is ridiculous.

Compare it to the Stones timeline...it would mean the last Stones video was  Undercover of the Night. 18

Look at everything you would have missed.

GNR needs at least one video representing the reunion lineup. It's already lasted longer than the classic era.

On the other hand....it revolves around nostalgia and since they don't promote anyone but the big 3...maybe they don't want anyone focusing on the current lineup.

Oklahoma for me too because it seems like one of the few songs that seems connected to a culturally significant event and not the usual complaints about Step, the old band breakup etc

Yeah it will stand out in the discography like Civil War and Catcher in the Rye.

It's more likely a reaction to the empty stadiums in the US awaiting their arrival.

Release some songs over the next few months and it will promote those shows and help sell tickets.

KISS facing a similar situation and they're having to giveaway tickets...some people are buying KISS tickets for 8 bucks.

GNR/Live Nation want to avoid that scenario here.
