AC/DC is going on tour. Chances are Brian won’t make the whole thing so Axl is 2nd string backup if needed…..kidding obviously

These old dudes need to let it go….the live shows are nothing more than cash grabs for all these fuckers….let it go

I wander if he meant 'taking off 2024' as opposed to '2024 taking off' with respect to gnr

Has anyone noticed they don’t sell Chinese on their official site but they sell that half assed Appetite for Democracy video?

Yep...other than performing a handful of CD tracks, they've acted like the CD era never existed since day one of the reunion.

I don't think it's going to change.

Here is the Duff interview:

And Slash said that he is going to record a new SMKC album in the fall of 2024:

So, the schedule seems to be:

January-April 2024: SMKC tour in support of "4".

Summer 2024 (?): Slash solo album release and tour / Possibly new solo album/EP by Duff.

Fall 2024: Duff solo tour / Recording of next SMKC album.

2025: Release and tour (?) in support of new SMKC / GN'R tour (?)

This is all the confirmation I need that my theory was on the right track.

2024 a silent year followed by a 2025-27 anniversary/AFD anniversary/farewell tour.

I disagree about pretending CD never existed. In Axl's 2016 interview he said he enjoys performing the CD songs the most. At the last show in 2017 they played 8 CD songs, and with SOD being played intermittently now that's 9/14 songs total from the album they've played. Not to mention there are 3 CD songs (from the album, not live versions from NITL) included in the 2020 GNR pinball machine. If there was ever a place to ignore CD that would have been in it, since it's Slash's baby. Hardly forgotten.

Go to the official site and try to buy anything related to CD or new GNR. After that, scroll through their social media channels for new GNR.

You won't find anything.

They can play a few songs live til the cows come home or throw on some pinball machine no one will buy or play but it doesn't change the fact this era isn't being acknowledged or celebrated.

Hell...they initially tried to market Perhaps as a brand new song from Axl, Slash, and Duff.

IMO trying to market Perhaps as new has less to do with trying to bury the CD era and more about trying to hide the embarrassing fact they have not been able to write new music. If Perhaps was an unreleased song from 1993 they would have probably tried the same thing.

It’s literally insane….on one hand they won’t acknowledge Chinese, yet the only thing they release are Chinese songs and every rock critic and fan of rock and roll knows it!

I’m with Age, it’s way more embarrassing not to create something new. However Ice, they have no shame. The first single from the reunion was a Hollywood Rose song!!!!!

Last I checked Duff and Slash weren’t in Hollywood Rose either!

I also find it amusing that 3/5 of the singles they have released since the reunion (Shadow/Hard Skool/Perhaps) were co-written by Tobias, considering Slash not wanting to work with him was the main catalyst for the band breaking up in the first place.

Hot take: I liked the "duelling solos" bit in Sympathy for the Devil.
