Until costs get controlled in some manner, there is no solution regardless of the side you're rooting for. All the things Obamacare did cost money and require full participation. Instead the sick signed up and the healthy took their chances with a fine, which is the fiscally correct move to make for the individual (unless you got unlucky and something bad happened to you when you were uninsured), but not the whole. The high-deductible plans basically amount to catastrophic care only. So people pay huge premiums and don't hit their deductible unless something major happens. It's a mess.

I prefer (and I can't believe I'm going to say this) Obamacare to the republican plan (as currently constructed) if (and that's a big IF) they can find a way to fix the clear financial issues. Passing the garbage they passed though was just as asinine as what the Republicans are trying to do now. The answer isn't in either plan, but there might be an answer somewhere in the middle.

It's getting harder to kill key players.  I think this may be a relatively tame season and all hell will break loose for the last season.  If LF bites the dust, they shorten the list of interesting and cunning people that can go either direction greatly.  They need to keep as many of the less predictable people around as long as they can or the story will be told before it is actually finished.

#1183 Re: Guns N' Roses » What GNR songs are still in your rotation? » 463 weeks ago

I saw 4 shows last year and will see another one later this year, but I can't tell you the last time I put on a GnR song.  If I do, it's usually UYI while mowing the lawn and that was last summer.  Lately I've been listening to Live since they are opening for them in August and I only know their big hits from that one album (whatever it's called).  I very much enjoy the concert experience and still listen if it comes on randomly, but I don't go out of my way to hear it outside of the concert experience any more.  I will probably give the limited run channel a listen though.

Really didn't think this could get even more idiotic, but it has.  Somehow I'm sure this is still my fault...

White people shooting brown people?  Did you really say that?

You guys know next to nothing about healthcare.  That much can't be denied.  You're not qualified to have a discussion that's even close to based in any truth.  Obamacare is awful and unsustainable financially.  The new plan is awful and unsustainable in addressing any of the actual healthcare issues.  Do we really need to waste time debating which is more horrible?  It really doesn't matter.  One is just a tax and the other is just a tax break.  Neither  option does anything to improve the healthcare situation for the common person.  But go ahead and ignore all that and talk about how your side is better for whatever talking point you recently overheard.  The next original thought coming from most of you will be the first.

Will Izzy and Adler show up??! I bet yes!!

It will probably spill over to the actual 30th anniversary of AFD, so. I'm sure that's probably not just a coincidence although I'm surprised there's no mention of it in the press release. And why not schedule the show on the actual anniversary date 7/21, which is a Friday? I suppose they could have a show already scheduled that day at the Apollo. I'll be listening in on my radio at the very least that night. I entered the sweepstakes but that's a long shot.

I entered too...hopefully one of us gets to go.  If I win, you might get to go anyway as I'm not sure the wife would be interested...

If I can figure out how to get an invite, I'm there.  I entered the sweepstakes, but I don't care how...I just want in at this venue.

#1187 Re: Guns N' Roses » European Tour 2017 Thread » 464 weeks ago

I've yet to see a show that was as good on youtube as it was being there.  Maybe you overlook some of the weakness of the voice because the experience is so good, but it really doesn't matter.  The fact is most singers in their 50s and beyond can't hit the notes like they used to.  Just in the past couple years I've seen Def Leppard, Van Halen, Paul McCartney, Huey Lewis, Paul Simon, Toto, Billy Joel, and probably some others.  They all showed some signs of age.  The only older one I thought didn't that I've seen recently is Stevie Wonder.

Axl was hit and miss live in the 90s.  You can't realistically expect it to be good every night in 2017.  Enjoy the experience for what it is.

I'm going to avoid reading the books until the series is over.  I knew they were different, which is fine I guess, but I don't want to confuse what is going on with the show with what I think should be going on based on the books.  Once it's over, I'll read them and consider it a different version of the same story told by someone else.

New albums aren't teased or promoted with some cheap ass video template featuring your biggest mega hits on it.

The point of marketing is to get your attention. Y'all got played and are mad about it.

Do you think Michael Jordan or Leborn or Tom Brady would ever approach their craft how Axl approaches his and just show up to arenas to "play ball" and not try and win or be the best they can be?

You want the best? Well they didn't fuckin' make it. So here's what you get, from Hollywood, a warmed over cash-grab nostalgia tour.

Chris Pitman > GN'R. Let that sink in.

GNR was the best. Don't be a sheep. You are better than this. Anyone cool with this stunt today is part of the damn problem.

You're mistaking cool with it for not being shocked at all. Disappointed?  Sure, but it's exactly what was expected. I'm too old to get mad when the expected happens.

Aussie, Monkey, Metallex, Bono, Gibbo and Flashflood GET IT!!!!

They sum up everything perfectly.. They hyped up a bullshit leg of the tour as if AFD 2 was about to be released... Yet we are told "why let it bother you", "Why did you expect anything", "be lucky they are even alive", "be grateful for what you have"....

FUCK YOU!!!!! What kind of sheep loser mentality is that??!?!?!  That is equivalent to Nick Saban saying, "oh well guys, we won some national titles, be content, no need to strive to be our best 100% of the time, lets be lazy mother fuckers and tell the fans they are lucky we are even playing football".. Do you think Michael Jordan or Leborn or Tom Brady would ever approach their craft how Axl approaches his and just show up to arenas to "play ball" and not try and win or be the best they can be?  Fuck, Mick Jagger wouldn't, Slash didn't when he wasn't in GNR, neither did Duff.  This apologist mentality for Axl is so fucking detrimental to the band and embarrassing to those that push that snowflake pussy bullshit.

AXL, GRAB YOUR FUCKING 54 YEAR OLD BALLS AND SING YOUR ASS OFF AND GIVE US A GOD DAMN REASON TO BE A FAN ANYMORE!!!!!

I would not be pissed one bit if they didn't do a 1 week promo video push for an announcement of arena tour dates.  This may be one of the most disappointing days in GNR history...

Bono's back?  Interesting.

It's not that we don't get it.  Sadly we've gotten it for some time. That's why we're not surprised. Wanting more and knowing what to expect are two different things.
