So the original lineup should reunite for that night? What about everyone else that helped make GNR big? Should Gilby and Matt be a part of it?
What about Robin, Bucket, Brain, Frank, Ron, Chris, Tommy etc? Those guys helped create CD, which has only added to the GNR legacy. GNR got inducted- they didn't specify "GNR but only the AFD lineup."
CD has not added to the Gn'R legacy. It's tainted the legacy much more so than added to it. Nobody involved with CD helped Gn'R gain the legacy they have. Matt should be part of it yes because he recorded on and toured the Illusions which unlike CD did play a part in the legacy.
CD is the after legacy. It's the legacy of Guns N' Roses once the overwhelming perception became it was no longer Guns N' Roses but rather an Axl Rose band witha collection of hire hands. It has nothing to do with the RRHOF and it has nothing to do with the badest band on the planet.
Too many people are confusing the CD era member's contributions on CD as contributions to the Gn'R legacy. That isn't it at all. The only way CD contributed to the legacy is because of it's long anticipation. That's it. It has nothing to do with who was in the band between 1997-2011. Nothing. Nor does it have anything really to do with the material.
Everything you just said proved my point. I said that CD added to the GNR legacy. I didn't qualify that and say whether it was good or bad.
Everything you said helped to prove that CD did add to the GNR legacy. (Good or bad doesn't matter) Without CD, people wouldn't be talking about GNR. The huge wait kept GNR/Axl in the spotlight. It is the butt of a lot of jokes. But with all the hype surrounding it there was no way it could live up. What we got is a perfectly good rock record (which there are too few of these days).
With everyone singing along to CD songs in concert, I do think those guys deserve some credit given to them.
There's a point in time where people have to move on and accept that this is how GNR is right now. I kind of feel that it would be a slap in the face to the guys in the band now to reunite with the old members. These guys seem to finally be getting some legitimacy to their lineup and a reunion would destroy that.
If GNR reunited, even for one night, people would want more, and people would turn away from this lineup even more. I say don't do it unless you're actually going to get back together.

Loaded started playing around 9. Got done around 10. GNR took stage a little after 1030. It was a really short wait compared to what I was ready for.

This band plays really well together. There were only two hiccups in their set. They had one of Shackler's and one on November Rain.

Let It Roll is the least
CD smokes it. Not even close.
This.

Lol at Cornell. He phones in that performance, is still just smokes.
Total swagger, it's like "i'm good and I know i'm good"
When you can come out and scream like he does you have every right to be like that. It's how it was at the Nudedragons show when they played Beyond the Wheel.
So cool to see these guys still play with each other after all these years.

I will post a better review later on. I just woke up an hour ago after.
From the pics we've seen since GNR started touring, I was expecting Axl to look fat, but he doesn't. Maybe the lenses they are using are not a good fit, I have no idea, but he looks skinny in person. I'd say him and Slash are about the same size.
The only bitching I heard from the crowd was that GNR went on after 1030 and then proceeded to play for 3 hours. (Seriously, an early start for GNR). I have a feeling Loaded went on late to make up for Axl coming on late. I really don't understand the bitching about GNR playing for so long. You are at a rock concert on a Friday night- and we got our fucking money's worth out of that show.
Crowd reaction wasn't anything like what I was expecting. People make it sound so negative. Crowd was chanting Axl a few times throughout the night. TONS of people screaming "We love you Axl!" and there were GNR chants as well.
A lot of people singing along to This I Love.
Crowd went crazy when Duff came out. However, it was kind of a short guest spot. It was over before it even started. I was expecting something closer to O2.
They should really drop one of the ACDC covers (Riff Raff). Whole Lotta Rosie sounded amazing, but there were a lot of people that didn't know what they were playing. There are so many other covers (or GNR songs) that they could do in the place of Riff Raff.
Axl seemed to be in a great mood. He sounded amazing too. Was very active on stage too. He puts younger singers to shame.
While waiting for GNR, there were people debating what time GNR would come on. Someone said something along the lines of "Well Axl's much older now, surely he won't come on late anymore."
Seating in the arena looked full. I don't think the floor was at full capacity though.

You Could Be Mine (with special guest Duff McKagan)
Note: Duff on bass / no Tommy
ZERO interaction between Axl and Duff on stage.

Note, i'm apparently getting these late or just missing them or something, because I just got LALD, and now all of the sudden...
This I Love
Actually, there was a guy trying to fight his way through the crowd to get closer during this song. He pushed an 18 year old girl out of the way and we almost beat the piss out of the guy. Ended up sending him to the back of the floor. So that was the reason for the lateness.

I he congratulating himself, or the old band... I don't get it...
He was very modest about it. Obviously I was on the floor so I couldn't send elaborate updates (and I wanted to enjoy the show).
He came out and mentioned that GNR were officially inducted. He then congratulated and thanked Duff. And then he congratulated all of the other guys as well. But he said, really it's a win for all the fans.
Also, after Jungle he said the song was written in Seattle.
