Unless he can make a shitload from a VERY LONG world tour I don't think this can be it.  I would imagine financially he would need to keep doing something.

Reading some of the replies in that thread was interesting, gives you some perspective of what people outside of the hardcore fan base think.  Interestingly it's not too different from the mixture of opinions from the hardcore GNR fanbase:

It's a glorified cover band in my opinion

Agreed, it seems to me a bit like if Paul McCartney went on tour with three session players and called it The Beatles.

Guns N Roses are still together? I thought they were currently residing in the "where are they now?" file.

Is Axl the only original member?

A couple of those comments highlight the lack of promo and press coming from this band.  How is it that some people that are posting on a music forum like that don't even know about Nu GNR & CD etc??

At the same time there are some good comments from people who have actually heard the album.  Perhaps if more people knew it existed (i.e. through promo etc) then there would be more comments like these:

If it turns out to be good music, cool. Why get hung up on the name.

Real or not, I liked the last GnR album and will try to catch them when they play here.
I give Axl props for not trying to remake AFD.

#1773 Re: Guns N' Roses » how are the shows selling this time around? » 860 weeks ago

Ahh ok that makes sense.  Yeah the big business for companies like Azoff's is raping all the premium seats then "packaging" them up (usually with shit stuff) and selling them for a fortune.

Consequently regular fans often find they can't get quality seats whilst you end up with rich stiffs in the front row, who are only going because they think it's cool to say they went to a Guns show or ACDC etc.  I suppose it's a little different when there is just General Admin sections but there are still premium seats etc on the side.

Personally unless there are actual fixed seats in the front rows (not that you usually want to be seated at a GNR concert) then there is not a lot of value in these sort of packages IMO - unless you perhaps have an opportunity to meet the band or something decent.

Yeah I was wondering if it was due to lack of interest that they pulled it.  I mean you don't get to meet ANY of the band for that from what I understood.  Even if you met everyone but Axl it would at least have created some extra value for your dollars.

Not sure if this was posted:

Due to unforeseen circumstances, there will not be an Ultimate fan package on the Guns N’ Roses tour in January 2010.

You have two options:

Option 1: Keep your Toronto general admission ticket(s) only. We will refund the difference between the ticket price ($87.32 USD, at today’s exchange rate) and the package price ($207.68 USD per package), to the credit card used to make your purchase. Your ticket will be available at the box office on the day of the show. There is no priority access.

Option 2: Choose a full refund and cancel your order entirely. We will refund your order to the credit card used to make your purchase.

Please note it may take 5-10 business days to credit to your account.

Please let us know your preference by Friday November 20th, 2009 at 5pm Pacific time via e-mail to info@iloveallaccess.com, or simply reply to this e-mail. If we do not hear from you by this time, we will process option 1 for you.

Please include your order ID number and attendee name on the order when you reply.

I'd still go, but only locally I wouldn't travel any great distance this time around.

Story is true. MLB are unhappy at lack of income from the GN'R official website. They have hijacked it and are not currently allowing updates.

So they are going to continue to run the website like it has been run for the last few years then - 14

It doesn't surpise me though, they probably paid way over the odds for the site based upon expectations of a whole host of things happening that never did.  Perhaps they can sit down over a beer with Best Buy and compare notes.  16

Hmm I hope that's not accurate what she's implying about the inspiration for the songs/content.

That's a road I really hope he hasn't taken, nothing to be gained by indulging in petty school yard crap like that.
