The possible bad things to come out of this far outweigh the good.  One negative review by RS or Blender and we're back to the dead period for 4 more years of perfecting the vocals on CD.

This is the only thing about this situation that worries me. I have no problem with Axl doing these songs, but I do worry how he reacts to reviews and how the fanbase responds to it.

I like how the cd's switch at Sandman/Black Album. That was a real change for the band, and turning point. I'd like to see the GH reflect that.

I did that on purpose. The Black album turned Metallica into a whole different beast. Both eras have to be seperated, which is one reason a one disc GH would never work. It would be loaded with Black album material, and thats not how to properly show what they were all about.

If Metallica does a compilation like this, they need to have in mind young people who have never heard of them before and our looking to dive into their discography. You need to give them a taste of everything.

Yeah, the first disc is long, but there's really nothing that can be left off of there, maybe Orion.

Take the onions off of that, and I'll meet you for lunch.

Actually, thats on my list of things to do before I die. Go to Philly and eat one of those sandwiches.

The Pats hype is more deserved than the Cowboys hype, or any other team's. Pats are the best team in the NFL, it's a sad truth. But if they keep trying to score when they're already up 30 on road games, someone will be wise enough to nail the shit out of Brady over and over again, even if they fucking run the ball, until they put in scrubs or end his career.

I'm glad CC brought up this interesting point, because its starting to become a problem. I have nothing against them scoring as they are clearly on a mission to destroy as many records as possible, but alot of people are bitching about this and we may see a NE backlash in the coming weeks.

They gotta start benching Brady when its obvious they won the game.

I'm sick of the whole NE thing. I seriously think Washington could pull an upset if too much talk is made about NE facing the Colts undefeated in two weeks.

I disagree. While Washington is having a good year, they are nowhere near the level that NE is at.

The Pats are averaging around 40 points a game. You cant beat a team that is pretty much guaranteed to score 40 points.

Only thing thats going to stop the Pats going undefeated is the Colts or Brady getting injured.

Strange. I could've swore they lost that game. I was just reading some of the articles today, and apparently they won.

Question: Are the Rams the worst team in history? They are awful. If they played a high school team, I would put my money on the high school team. Seriously. If they win one game, it will be a miracle.

I guess Beta took over where Yoda left off. If bullshit like this is playing a role in Axl's life, the only way this album will ever come out is if he stops having enough money to finance these people. Once those bank accounts dry up, you can bet your mother Axl starts hearing "the time for Chinese Democracy is now" from those people.

#17978 Re: Guns N' Roses » Comparing Axl Rose to the greats » 960 weeks ago

If Cornell had disappeared right after Black Hole Sun and still hadn't released anything, yes there would be interest. Don't blame Cornell for the fact he wanted to continue his career and release music. Cornell went from an extremely talented yet underrated band that got mixed into the grunge label but had success to a critically acclaimed solo career to fronting one of the most successful supergroups in history. He did all that without blinking an eye.. He didn't need 10 years to decide whether a song was worthy of being released.

I agree with your "last great rock star" label, but you don't need to diminish other artists accomplishments when giving him that label. Cornell has an incredible resume. I don't even know why I'm defending the guy because his resume speaks for itself.

#17979 Re: The Sunset Strip » George W. Bush Quotes » 960 weeks ago

Yeah he's got some terrible quotes. There's actually a book filled with nothing but moronic Bush quotes. His presidential library is going to be terrible.

My favorite is when he uses the word "misunderestimated". Thats not even a word.

That's exactly what Bach is counting on.

ANYBODY who got to have Axl Rose on their album would definitely use that as a promotional tool. Hell, they would be crazy not to. He hasn't had an officially released song since 1999.

What sucks about this is if Axl is doing what he did with End of Days and is using this album to sort of "test the waters". If he is, every GNR fan needs to buy it the second its released.

The fate of Chinese Democracy may hang in the balance.:butt:
