Yeah, it does sound different. I'm thinking that one dude was right that the version that was floating around a couple days ago, was just a remastered version of the leak.
Its not since the newer was has the xtra riffs at the beginning and the ending solo is higher in hte mix

The leaks have also been removed by Tsunami in 2007. Tons of companies remove shit for artists. youtube is quite possibly THE biggest promotional tool in the world(and the icing on the cake is that the promo is free), and its mind boggling watching certain bands have their shit removed.
If the album ever comes out, they'll be wishing they could go back and not destroy its own promotion.
I agree, bands are STUPID for taking this stuff off. People hear stuff on youtube and say hey that is cool, then go out and buy the album. Artists think by taking down the stuff will only make people go out and buy their stuff, it does the exact opposite, it makes people want to steal it bc the only way to hear a song is to illegal download it. Just look at the arrest of the guy who streamed the gnr leaks. How many fans on the boards might not buy CD because of that. The things artists dont get (minus trent) is leaks HELP not hurt albums. Just think of nothing from CD ever leaked save the live versions of the songs from 2002, no one would care about CD. Just look at how IRS TWAT and BETTER all got air play. they got reviewed in mags, that is free pub and they are pissing on it. They are idiots.

IGN: How did debuting a new GnR song come about? And how was "Shackler's Revenge" chosen as the song for RB2?
Brosious: Well of course we really wanted to have GnR included in RB2 and Paul DeGooyer, our music guru and all-around good guy at MTV, worked directly with the GnR folks to make it happen. Everyone involved decided that it'd be ultra fab to have something from the mysterious "Chinese Democracy." And Axl himself took an interest and chose "Shackler's Revenge." Very cool.
IGN: Do you think this means the long-delayed Chinese Democracy will come out in my lifetime?
Brosious: Definitely... wait how old are you? RB2 will be (I think) the first public release of content from "Chinese Democracy." So, with that, maybe people will be looking forward to this album coming out even more than they were before.

Lenny Kravitz. Someone just called me with the offical word. The contracts are in negotiation. No word yet if they will keep Kushner though. I mean if they have lenny why would they keep him around they dont need 3 guitars... anyhow, thats the word. I dunno, im thinkin SR will be another OMG.. altho i do however like OMG.. but OMG has seemingly nothing to do with C.D, much in the way i reckon SR will... its like the ginger stepchild of C.D
It sounds like another better.
They said its like a hint of old gnr mixed with NIN but its poppy.
That fits better to a T
so id guess the song is in the same style of better
