#21 Re: Guns N' Roses » GNR to perform at Golden Gods award show/ lifetime achievement for Axl » 581 weeks ago
The whole awards thing has been painful to witness. Axl should really get in shape if he's planning to do anymore live shows.

I don't think he's participation wasn't even meant to promote the album. How i see this is that he just wanted to give the fans something special and totally unexpected. I'm not sure what Axl's motives are but all his writings started me thinking maybe he's not that well informed of every GN'R related businesses going on e.g. the ChiDem's amateurish booklet etc.

Dear Dexter,
Would it still be reasonable and somewhat profitable - promotion-wise - to make epic, 'bigger-than-life' kind of videos like November Rain and Estranged? To actually tell a story through a video rather than just to videotape a band playing live and call it a masterpiece. Do you think there's even a proper outlet for quality vids nowadays, because e.g. MTV airs mostly shoddy material.

Maybe he enjoyed the first time so much he decided to make habit out of it or maybe he just purchased a new laptop and wants to give it a testdrive. Hopefully he got the new MacBook.

I agree. Most of the question were stupid or naive. Something that an eight-year-older would ask Ronald McDonald: 'What's your favourite hamburger?' or 'Are you an Irish descent because you have a red hair and glowing red nose?'

Axl lurking around and reading the GNR-forums didn't strike me as a surprise. He's always seemed like a highly curios person and interested in what people think of him and write about. That's nothing new, we nobodies do the same thing, we post on forums and then anxiously wait for a reply to how see intriguing our thoughts or actions were and celebrities are human being too. But the fact that he actually logged in and answered fans' question did surprise me. Even though he didn't reveal any gigantic secrets, a release for a video was an evitable thing and shooting down falsely named "leaks" were merely a slap on hoarders' wrist. Still he's participation left a nice, sweet aftertaste to my mouth. Hats off to Axl on my behalf.
I'm not a huge Axl-swinger but i have to respect him for taking the time and talk to us, fans. Nicely done.

Anyways, I'm really disappointed in how CITR turned out. I hate how I'll always know this song could've been so much better. =/
That's the bad thing about the leaked demos we all got a few years ago...
I may prefer The Blues 2006 version but i don't start dissin' the album version
Imagine how many people are out there ,who haven't listened to gn'r since early 90's...this album ,as a whole, is an evolution and a revolution at the same time.
I think every artist wants to make an album with songs like Madagascar,The Blues,CITR,TWAT,Prostitute,Better,Sorry,Chinese Democracy...
I just thank Axl for puttin' this fucker out
For a lot people that haven't been listening to GN'R since 90's this album's not going to be an evolution and revolution at the same time. For most of the people CD is going to be a total surprise, either a happy or a sad one, that only time will tell. The first thought going inside their minds is 'this took 14 years to create?', 'Where's Slash and who's that guy with a bucket on his head?' I agree that CD has a few solid tracks on it but most of the stuff is filled with 'cut and paste' kind of ideas. This is just my opinion how the album is received.
I've been a fan since '91 and seen the new band twice but i still don't believe CD is going to a massive hit.
#29 Re: Guns N' Roses » Chinese Democracy First Video Coming Soon » 866 weeks ago
When a video turns up I pray (and I know, there won't be) it has a sign somewhere in the background:
"Where's Everybody?"
Indeed and maybe there could be a guy, with a blond curly hair eating popcorn, standing somewhere in the crowd holding a sign that says;
"I'm broke, i want a reunion!"

I force myself not to buy it. Not a big fan of iTunes. As a gesture of support for the band, i can mail Axl a dollar.
