Axl, are you reading this?

"It's funny to say, but we all kind of reconnected, and after quite a long time we all kinda looked at each other and were like, 'Man, we actually spent half of our lives together.' It's interesting to see it through that set of glasses as opposed to the ones you wore back then. I suppose, at least personally speaking, I've grown up a lot since then, and I think I approach the music differently, and I felt better about the music than I did then."

and every reuniting band should take this into consideration... although as a fan, I'd be happier with getting a cash grab reunion, than with getting a cash grab tribute band.

"We wanted it to feel fresh and still somehow vital... It wasn't an money grab."

It's really good and big news. His new song sounded good for the first listen, a bit similar to one of his last bigger singles (don't wanna spoil it for those who are waiting for the full album.)

I know that Bowie's health wasn't too good in the past years, but... to tell the truth, in this case, I'd welcome a new tour even more than a new album, cause I've never seen him live.

I think if Slash didn't have his project with Myles for quite some time, he would go back to VR. He's a workaholic, because he's an alcoholic and a druggie. He needs to find enough work to spend his days sober and survive.

#314 Re: The Sunset Strip » Led Zeppelin Discussion » 663 weeks ago

I think I understand monkey's point. He says that all the amazing music is there on the old albums, but the production is very simple and not something that would help the songs enough to reach full potential (these days). There isn't enough power in those recordings and some are messy - if you compare the production of The Song Remains the Same and Celebration Day, the latter wins, cause it sounds amazingly powerful and you can hear everything much clearer.

The same goes for the old studio stuff. The magic is there, but JPJ's playing wouldn't make your neighbour complain about your listening habits, cause you can listen it as loud as you want, it will not blow your head off. Bonzo's drumming is awesome, but today you would be able to see the exact drum kit around him, and would be able to physically set up his stuff.

Although 70s recordings sound much better today than the 80s ones. Just my 2 cents.

I'm so uninterested in this tribute show, that I won't even bitch about the same setlist during the Aussie tour.

Thats all well and good, referring to Fleetwood Mac, VH, Genesis etc, but they each had major hits with their new line-ups, and went on to create alot of output.  Something GnR has not managed to do with any line up post UYI.

Yep. Once again, Fortus talks out of his ass.

I saw this thread discussed at another board, and some said that those who share this opinion are wrong, cause the record industry changed and bands barely release new stuff these days. They said CD was released only 4 years ago, so it's normal to wait another 4 years for the follow-up.

I'm sure there's other posts of this nature, but maybe we need an official "I'm drunk" thread for those of us who are intoxicated and feel the need to post here...

The best ideas always come up when you're drunk. Blessed time. Then you wake up and forget how to save the world. 14

You can love your Who covers all you want, but if I don't get more AC/DC covers I'M OUTTA HERE!

If I don't get to hear Riff Raff, I'll Riot!!

A few more AC/DC covers wouldn't hurt. I say half the show GN'R, the other half AC/DC! 9
