If you don't view him as essential, and I don't think anyone would. That's not to say he doesn't bring anything to the table, but if you're looking to trim the fat and have one less person to share the profits, he'd be at the top of the list.

Was this the plan all along or were his two well documented tweets the cause of this? If this was the plan, I'd say he was unaware. Maybe he jumped the gun and just assumed he was going to be a part of it? He put together that trailer that ran prior to Star Wars and tweeted about Coachella. So obviously he was all in early on. So it's interesting to think about how we ended up here. I know the popular belief will be that the tweets sealed his fate, but who knows with this organization. Wouldn't shock me if they strung him along and just recently let him know that he wasn't going to be a part of this, or at least they weren't upfront with him regarding his official status from the start. We'll probably never know for sure though, as is the case most often in the land of GNR.

Somewhere Teddy "ZigZag" Whatever the fuck his last name is, by the phone expecting a call!

As is Tracey and Roberta.

I have a feeling that Guns will be playing the Superbowl next year.

After, having such a shit act this year with Coldplay ugh.

They'll need something American and hard hitting.

Yes Adler wants back in the band. But, he's a junkie still. And a huge liability. So why set yourself up for that failure?

As for Matt, he has no writing credits in the band and was just a replacement.

Also, he has a piss poor attitude.

I thought I heard that Duff and Slash kind of had a disdain for him a couple years ago, wonder if that is still the case.

I assume Axl isn't a fan.

Personally I rather have: Josh Freese (but dude is always busy) or Brain back. But, Frank seems like a good guy that doesn't take a piss everywhere or act like a retarded man child like Matt "dip shit" Sorum.

The junkie is not getting a call and neither is the prick.

When I think of Guns I'm not like oh man I really need Adler up there. Maybe if dude had his shit together. But he has had since 1991 to do so and can't.

I have nothing against Paul(I love that 01 lineup) but I don't see how he brings more to the table than Gilby. At least Gilby had a resume at that point. Bringing in Paul was more like a power play but in fairness to Axl, Slash's zero tolerance for him was as well.

Mr. Tobias brought songwriting.

As well as the fact he was a childhood friend of Axl.

I assume Axl's reasoning is this guy has my back no matter what. Also, we wrote together.

He won't be against going in a direction I want Guns N' Roses to go in.

#315 Re: Guns N' Roses » Slash and Duff working on CD II according to MSL » 496 weeks ago

I'm just helluva excited for Slash and Duff to be back and this dynamic.

I mean really who knew?

I can be out of the cold finally. Since ever since that cockmouth DJ Ashba came in I hated the band. As I am a huge Finck / Buckethead fan. That DJ ugh.

ANYHOW.

I just am wondering the dynamic of the band.

Does everyone have an equal say?

Or is it like an employer.

Axl has never come across in my eyes as a Mike Love kind of guy. So I don't see this as a one off tour and celebration.

It is a very exciting time to be a fan of this band.

Hoping Izzy is involved. As I am a huge fan of that chap.

Anyhow, hopefully Axl doesn't get that shit flak he got at the rock n' roll hall of fame for not showing up. And those lame boos.

The reason I became a fan of the whole Chinese era. Was because Mister Rose presented himself as a guy trying to evolve the sound of the band from straight up rock to something more. Yes he did that with the Illusion's albums, to a degree. Here was a guy willing to go industrial / grunge / queen-esque and have these different genres of rock in his sound. With that fuck Ashba joining though that dream ended. As Finck was part of the foundation (yes Buckethead too). But, at least you had the Finck Tank.

Right now it is just an interesting time to be a fan of this band.

I hope Mr. Rose can share his (Brian Wilson / Robert Plant esque) talent some more with the world.

Not trying to be a kiss ass either, but, dude is talented and it would be great to hear more music.

JUST PLEASE DO NOT LET MYLES KENNEDY BE A GUEST ON ANY ALBUM, GOD MK SUCKS.

#317 Re: Guns N' Roses » Slash and Duff working on CD II according to MSL » 496 weeks ago

I am wondering, would Axl bring back Buckethead if he was able to? Or because he has Slash back, there is no need?

Would Slash be willing to work with Buckethead? If that was the case.

#318 Re: Guns N' Roses » Update from Izzy Stradlin » 498 weeks ago

Well if he is loyal to Adler props to that.

But, I think Axl, Slash, Duff all realize that Adler is a huge liability. Sometimes you have to make smart business decisions.

I assume they don't like Sorum.

#319 Re: Guns N' Roses » Update from Izzy Stradlin » 498 weeks ago

I think Izzy is by in large more loyal to Axl than anyone else in the band. He has known the bro since they were kids. That shit trumps friendship made in your 20s.

#320 Re: Guns N' Roses » GUNS N' ROSES Rumor: IZZY STRADLIN To Take Limited Role In Reunion Rea » 500 weeks ago

I don't think people complaining about Izzy is hipster bullshit.

Why Izzy is important is because he brings the songwriting factor.

Now of course one can argue he can still do it with the boys if he isn't there full-time.

However, having Izzy tour with you puts you in a situation where they have more opportunities to discuss potential ideas for when they ever get back into the studio. Or he could be like oh yeah, I've got this sexy ass riff / lyric / song. What do you think of this sugar tits?

That's why Izzy is so important. He brings that.

Yes he has toured with GN'R for ten years on and off.

Also, correct me if I am wrong but, after Axl, Izzy has the most songwriting contributions to Guns N' Roses.

No Steven Adler is fine by me. Guy is a train wreck. If  I was crying over that dude it would definitely be hipster bullshit. As he is by far the easiest person to replace. Not reliable in the least. And a loose cannon.
