So if you want a Democrat in office, why would you support the guy who can't even unite his own party in the battleground states, let alone the man who has 3x as many of his own people jumping ship to the other guy?

To me, fair is fair, regardless of November. If Obama wins the popular vote, and gets the most delegates, it'd be very hard to give the nomination to Hilary. Now, if it's split, and Hillary wins the popular vote, but Obama has more delegates, I agree a case can be made on her behalf for winning the "swing" states, but you have to look at America, and the people vote. Not just 3 states. It may not help in November, but that's the  way it is. Otherwise, the parties should only have primaries in about half the states.

The beating he's taken from Hillary is nothing compared to the beat down the GOP will give him.  If all this stuff has come out by debating someone who doesn't want to annihilate her oppopnent, imagine what will come out when the Republicans start.

By the same token McCain isn't even taking a beating yet and he still doesn't have a lead. He is only tied or just barely leading and doesn't even have an opponent yet. Imagine when the fight starts, it'll only be downhill from there. Again Randall, quit using April polls to base your November prediction.

For starters, I vote for and care about January, not November. Call me what you will, but I care about who I'd want as President. Secondly, I know you can't look at polls in April for what will occur in November, it's way too early.

I do agree Obama is losing a bit of his aura. He continues to talk about change, & a new Washington etc. I went down to see him last Friday & I do have to say, I was a bit underwhelmed. Just spoke about change, typical stories about a working class guy who couldn't fill up his gas tank. That's the same thing Hillary says. He's starting to say things (fight for America, bring back jobs to the US, reduce big lobbyist etc) that Hillary says. He needs to seperate himself more, and come up with REAL ideas and initiatives. Otherwise, they're basically the same candidate.

Supposedly, the talk is he wouldn't want her as his VP, but she would agree to have him as hers (if the superdelegates advised it). IMHO, here's how I think it'll go down. The  rest of the states are as expected, OBama wins the delegate and popular vote, as a result, the super delegates decide to side with Obama. Clinton accepts this and backs him. Obama selects someone else as VP, possibly Ed Rendell (a big Clinton supporter to keep the Clinton vote, and help win Ohio due to proximity & similar situation). He's a good campaigner and politician too. Fast Eddy.

well first off its ot...so to put WSH on the PK in OT is crap in a game seven (maybe i'm jsut too old school but there was a time when you were good to go unless you cut someoen arm off with your skate...then maybe you might get a penalty 16 ) ... second he was going for the puck IMHO

I agree with you on the first point, the refs could have put away the whistle (especially being OT in game 7), but not so much on the second. I don't think there was much effort to go for the puck. On the other hand he didn't seem to even trip really, so it could have been a no-call.

Anyway, Ovechkin really picked it up in game 6 & 7. His shots a laser.

Wow, yeah. She won pretty big too. Surprised me, I thought it'd be fairly close.. This things going to the convention.

#6217 Re: The Garden » The NHL 2007-08 Season Thread » 942 weeks ago

Woo-hoo!!

Refs weren't bad. The defenseman had the puck so he checked him. Not the Flyers fault the goalie was standing behind him. The OT trip was pretty blatant. I agree in the 3rd period on let 'em play, but that was a pretty obvious trip. The guy even lost his stick over it.

#6219 Re: Guns N' Roses » If you're Axl and you're ready to tour.... » 942 weeks ago

I say offer Finck a blank check. Release CD & make a good amount of $$ off the tour. So Axl can afford to pay him. Especially knowing he's got millions in waiting for him in a reunion down the line. Get Finck, tour 08-09. Then late next year announce plans for a reunion, after CD has sold & went it's course, then get back with the old gang. Put together a new album as well.

#6220 Re: Guns N' Roses » GNR issue statement about Robin » 942 weeks ago

I used to think he was a studio tech guy/engineer. Then when he got the pre-sale's that nixed that theory. Only thing with the Ron theory is I would think Axl would catch on & suggest he not post anymore. Who knows though. He could be a relative/good friend of someone involved.
