I'm more interested in this record after reading this write-up... but for me, REM hasn't done much for 10+ years, so I'm cautiously optimistic.

I'm including Riyadh, Silkworms, the "new" KOHD and the covers they performed like "We Are Sailing", "Back in the U.S.S.R", "Sway", etc.

I think Silkworms died a horrible death. Wasn't that the really fast screaming song?? Absolutely no desire for KOHD III, didn't like KOHD on UYI anyway. Wouldn't want USSR, don't know much about Sailing or Sway. Rusttcb I would like Better Acoustic if it was all acoustic (a la Lies & the early NR demo) not the same song but with Robin playing an acoustic guitar, then all the other parts still in there. But yeah, I'd be cool with that. I didn't hear that rumor.

Well, word is that U2, Metallica, Green Day & GnR (NOT!) might release albums this year. Anyone care to discuss/predict them??

I'm really pulling for Metallica, I know they'll take a turn in some way, maybe more rock/classic rock style. Hopefully it's solid, most definitely will be better than St. Anger. U2 really needs to take a turn, which is something they're good at when needed (Achtung Baby, All that you can't leave behind). Hopefully they're right on the money with this one. I think they'll take a slowed down approach, with catchy hooks or something. Alot of 'One' Beautiful Day & Mysterious Ways style. Green Day, I dunno, I think it'll be hard for them to top American Idiot. That was kinda like their 'Quadrophenia' They certainly cannot go back to 4 chord punk, so we'll see. Oddly enough I think Rick Rubin is producing ALL of these albums (i think). So they should be solid. Lastly CD, honestly I don't think it'll come out.

Who knows, maybe some other big names like PJ & RHCP might drop an album too. Here's to '08 5

Songs we have heard only live but now their studio counterparts leaked,

I thought they only played 4 songs live, all of which leaked. Anyway, I'm torn on this, if we get 2 or 3 new songs, that's almost the whole album of leaks. Makes CD kinda useless at that point. Anyway, i wouldn't care to get another version of Better, or IRS or whatever... Wouldn't even bother downloading it. So count me as one who'd want a new song. Something we've heard of, like This I love or Sorry. Really though, I just want the album, something tangible. Leaks can be kinda crappy with some burned CD, it's just not the same for me. I'm old school, i like having & buying an album.

What do you guys think of the Winter Classic tomorrow? I think it's a very important game for the health of hockey in the US. Football sportscasters have even been talking about it, the first time I've ever heard them mention anything NHL. I'm pretty excited to be going, and would rather see an exciting game than a win for Buffalo.

Go NHL in the USA! Survive!

That game looked awesome. I saw it on my guide & flipped over but it was a commercial break. I flipped back to a bowl game & forgot to tune back. That was exactly what the NHL needed, and the snow seemed to make it legendary. Ending with a shootout with Crosby, I hate to say it but the NHL couldn't write a better script for that day.

Haha, yeah yours was was i never quite figured out. I never put it together russ/tcb.  I had no clue about Tejastech. Never even noticed it was basically Texas Tech. I thought it was something in Spanish or something. CC's is pretty funny, i always got that as some mocking of Chinese Democracy.

I'm not saying he was a great GM, but him leaving is a bad thing. Bringing in a new GM could very well mean another new coach, another new QB-RB combo, another new defensive scheme. I'm sick of rebuilding. 8 years since we've had a playoff game (a franchise record, btw) and I feel like this team with fewer injuries and a better Offensive coordinator could've made the playoffs. Now... shit might hit the fan again.

One thing they're not giving up on is Marshawn Lynch. That guys a player & a good move in letting Willis McGahee go. Bills should stick with Trent Edwards. He's like a Trent Dilfer, isn't great but can keep you in games. For a rookie that's pretty good. They're in a pretty good position for next year, I don't know much about them, but myb drafting a stud WR or TE, and getting LB Posluzny back along with another defensive draft pick & myb a free agent (bring TKO back if he gets cut) , could be looking good next year.

I joined HTGTH in the wintertime, and I like snowboarding. I live in Pennsylvania, which is PA. Add Snow, PASnow.  Alot of people think it's PAS Now, which really doesn't mean anything. Not that I can think of at least.

That's interesting, seems like you need an engineering degree to figure that all out.

Neemo, my guess is the actual beat & pounding of the drum & cybal crash lasts a bit longer, when slowed down. It stretches the duration 8.5375264473152508%
