even if that is true, how early this year makes a huge difference on the relevance of the comment.

if she said the album was STILL on the HORIZON in January, for instance. that insinuates that it was on the horizon prior to January and has been on the horizon through today, it is now mid may. that would be 5 months or so plus a phantom number (backwards - between now and when it became "on the horizon") plus another phantom number (forward - between now and when it comes out). at that point, "on the horizon" is fast becoming the equivilent of "soon" and we know what that word means in the gnr dictionary.

so how early this year did she say that?
and why is so fine privied to this info?

with all of the road blocks CD encountered perhaps Robin saw the reunion talk as the final nail in the cd coffin and so he left. if a reunion was really in the works, perhaps there was a push to disregard cd in favor of the reunion and that was a deal breaker for axl.

Buzz - I think the lyrics are inspiring to so many because of the fact that THEY ARE negative and based on real events that people can relate to when they are having real issues or even just having a bad day. that allows people an escape from their problems and any time you feel better about your self you take one step in the right direction. also, knowing the lyrics and music came from someone that went from an abused teenage runaway to an international success can be very inspiring.

agreed 100 percent - karma

i've learned to spend next to no time on gnr boards unless something is happening and even then, only 10 minutes or so that day/s.

personally, I don't see how anyone can nutswing OR.... be so critical of a musician without, first, considering their own work. people that don't like ron point to his solos but i think his rhythm work on cd far supercedes his solos in bulk BUT, in total, we really don't have that much to judge him by. also, I think we assume much when we specualte why who plays which solos. somone has to play each solo and the one who is playing it doesnt mean the other/s couldn't also do it well. personally, i think it is just as much a matter of establishing their identities in the band as it is who can play what the best. until an album with these guys all over it comes out, speculation is all we got though and discussion of this is 99.9 percent opinion.

kind of ironic.......

i don't listen to the studio version very often because of axl's whiney vocals in the chorus - I just wish he would stay in the legit voice the whole song.

but I love the live version because of axl's vocals in the chorus - His scream is so amazing to listen to.

The rest of the song is great IMO, including the guitar solo.

DJ mentioned that he was "the lead guitarist in gnr" in one of the promo videos for the tour. these guys are just fucking with axl. seems to be a common trend.

From who?  There wasn't any interest in the "new material" in 2002 or any time after that.  So a few people at a few dwindling GnR sites want new material?  Big deal.  That isn't going to get a record company to release an album.

It's over.  Accept it.  This is officially a notalgia act.  There's nothing wrong with that, but some of us accepted that a long time ago and others still haven't.  It's okay to be a nostalgia act.  If the long awaited CD didn't register, I don't know what makes anybody think some magical new album is going to.  He had his one shot.  People now know what to expect, and the reception was lukewarm at best.  Now the curious won't even buy it, so who are you going to sell to?  10,000 hardcore internet fans?  Good luck with that.

same old mistake ....anything less than UY is a failure and so cd is a failure and anything else will be as well.

cd has sold close to 3 million copies ytd.
cd was a significant monetary success, along with the tour, fanfare, etc.

oh an i don't think that there are that many gnr forum junkies across the web.

assuming the fact that there is intent on axl's and the label's behalf to release more material proves that gnr is doing just fine, considering the reality that a second album would have to be amazing in order to come close in sales to CD.

you can call this and that a failure all you want but you are an arm-chair quarterback and your analysis is irrelevant to gnr and the mighty dollar. if the label and axl/gnr think it is a success - IT IS.
