Thats a good idea. Since this is a limited release and doesn't seem to be in stores, I think whoever wins it should upload it for fellow Evo members. Not posting it publicly of course, but sharing a link with those in this thread wanting to see that DVD.

Allow me to turn hypocrite and call out "Great idea" (normally i'm on about the anti-downloading yay-selling music posts!) but i'm always in favour of sharing what can't be bought in stores. (Eg GNR leaks...and Eg This dvd. It's so annoying i would buy it right now but they dont seem to want to sell it in my country or anywhere that ships to here! Grr!). Anyway...would be awesome if whoever wins does show us some love smile

I don't know and don't really care if this guy heard CD. My point was that nowadays its not that
shocking or unbelievable that someone has actually heard CD.

I sort of agree in theory...but then i also think its kinda unbeleivable that he'd also have insider goss on VR. So i mean what we know of him:

1. Posts on Metalsludge
2. His best mate runs the place where VR reherse and knows what's going on with the band.
3. He works for the record label and has heard the full finished album.

I dunno..i sort of find that combination of things unbeleivable...but I could be wrong!

Yeah its possible to buy the occasional CD single here..but its pretty dead..usually the corner of a store with a box with like 5 songs in it. But here's to hoping that they do something for us!

#8817 Re: Guns N' Roses » Song #2 (Prostitute) is the biggest gun of all IMO » 926 weeks ago

I think the lyrics overall, despite the disputed line, tend to suggest it could be called prostitute...just as the general theme of them is consistant thematicly with that. So i still think it is prostitute...however given many of Axl's new songs have similar themes and lyrical content..it could easily not be too.

#8818 Re: Guns N' Roses » Ironic when you think about it. » 926 weeks ago

Yeah he bashed nirvana for being too snobby to play with GNR and Metallica...(fair call too IMHO) but overall he was a fan of nirvana and that scene and said about how when he is down that music can inspire him to peform.

What's far more ironic to me is the fuss and noise Nirvana made about being all anti-industry (check out the 'Live Tonight Sold Out' doco interviews as an example) and then Dave Ghroll went on to front the Foo Fighters..who while they have a couple of ok songs...strike me as generic and bland and pretty much text book sellable mainstream radio appeal rock.

I should add that i think Dave is an incredible drummer and stuff though i'm not dissing him - i'm just saying he grew up into a guy who wasn't the rebel cutting edge persona  his old band put forward.

That's prob one of those english tabloids that just make stuff up right? So i'm trying not to get too excited..but hell...looks cool on paper! 9

Yeah...itunes is cool for the ease of getting stuff that is otherwise hard to find. I use it...but I would prefer they had a lossless audio option (i'd gladly pay more for it even) as the standard bit rates and even the itunes plus are a bit light on for me.

I'll definately buy SR though in any format. I'd love to see a CD single!
