#8971 Re: Guns N' Roses » Chinese Democracy Tracklisting Speculation » 931 weeks ago
I'm sure that Maddy, Twat, IRS and Better would be on the album...because there's multiple leaks of them, you don't keep re-recording new parts and creating new drafts and demos of songs you have abandoned. When a new member joins and records somethign for the song its because the song is still active and planned to go on CD IMHO. Applying this process to the live boots we've also seen evolution in CD, and The Blues, so I would expect them on the album too.
The only ones that are doubtful are the ones that appear to have been dropped. Like Rhiad - why has it never been performed since 2002? Although its studio mix is strong so I think it will still show. And Track 2 and If the World - i'd expect them to show up but in a re-worked form - but its possible - afterall prostutute was dropped from the setlist for some reason.
When it comes down to it...the only leak I think may not show up is Catcher. Because:
1. It's clearly from a different source material as the others.
2. Axl seemed to imply the track was not a current deal in an interview
3. its never been played live, or refered to ever again, and the only known version seems to be just Axl and Brain May...no sign of any of the rest of the line ups.
Although I hope it does show up cos its a great song and i'd love to hear a proper studio mix of it.
If also depends what form of CD we have. Axl has said lots of things over the years - most recently that there's 13 tracks....but then given we know he has like 3 cds of stuff...it makes you wonder about the lost songs that may never come out....
I still hope we get a studio cover of 'sailing' too

My theory is that when things go wrong, like bucket quitting the band, legal dilemmas, Axl takes a break from working on things to emotionally recuperate. Seems that there is quite often a burst of public activity for a year or more and then things go silent again for a period of time.
#8973 Re: Guns N' Roses » Mysteron confirms "Shackler's Revenge" as an actual new GN'R song » 931 weeks ago
How could it be fake?
It's unlikely I'll grant. But its vaguely possible. I'm thinking someone downloads the rockband setlist showing November Rain as the GNR track. This person is the type of person who likes to fuck with the GNR fan base for whatever reason people do it - attention or whatever. He is a buckethead fan - so makes up a song name based on one of bucket's solo songs. (ie Changes 'Shackler' to 'Shackler's Revenge', he could have easily been like 'Return to Nottingham' or something) - subs in those words and posts to the net. Bingo instant rumour that sounds kind of legit. The only thing giving this rumour any credibility is mysteron or whatever saying its real. So i guess it comes down to how accurate he is with info. But think of it this way - if it comes out now without the song - will people think Mysteron was full of shit or that the band simply 'pulled' the song? This whole thing could just be a really well crafted BS story that is able to take a life of its own.
For the record...I really hope it is real...and i'm dying to hear a new song, and i'll go nuts when rockstar is released...and I think it is real overall....i'm just saying...to my mind its not impossible that it could be bullshit...more definate things in GNR world have turned out to be red-hearings...

Good Sign
Although...if its a fake...from the naming of the GNR track it's obviously a smart fake by someone who is a fan of GNR/Bucket - so it's still possible that it was a legit tracklist that someone just changed NR to SR for their idea of a good time.
I really hope it does happen though. A new song would go down a treat now!

Hey Everyone.
I'm lead guitarist in this band, and we just put two songs online. I'd welcome the thoughts of fellow gunners/revolvers. Don't be afraid to tell me it sucks if it sucks - as i'm looking for real world feedback from the type of people i'd like to be at our gigs. Or, if you like it - feel free to stroke my ego too
Thanks everyone

Wow....that video shows me two things:
1. No one can sing axl's songs like axl...
and
2. Slash owns old gnr songs....that outtro solo was fucking badass.....

bigbri wrote:A lot of people say that about Lace. It is definitely one of his best, but I don't think it's the absolute best. Would be the best GNR leak though.
I actually consider the track overrated. Highly overrated.
Really? Interesting.
I think the start is a bit bland...only because stylisticly its not so much to my taste..like the way all of buckets songs seem to 'jump' style mid track. I can see that might be a feature most people really like though. It seems like he does it alot I mean "Jump Man" does the same thing and Jorden is similar...its cool but might not work to well other than in an instrumental context. All i mean is that it sounds like at least 2 seperate songs mashed together..lol...
But then any concerns I had over the track obliterate once the solo gets going. That passage from 3.30 - 3:55 is absolutely mind numbing. Maybe it's the guitarist in me, but that's some *serious* dexterity right there...there's got to be only like a handful of players alive who can hit a run like that. At 4.55 its also pretty scary from a shred point of view...but over and above this....I like how the melody gets a little like a Hendrix lick (but on roids) at 5.06...just very cool....and somehow the track starts to get that etherial quality to the ears...like overloading them...the tone the melody..up loud and it just tripps me out...
And I'm a guy who wanted to hate bucket because I grew up loving slash
anyway...its cool if your not into the track...but I think some solos of this caliabre on a new GNR album (as opposed to the cool but short burst thing he seems to do in GNR) would really shut people up, blow guitarists away and make people respect the new songs a lot more....
#8978 Re: Guns N' Roses » A re-post from MyGNR, A GN'R fan convention » 931 weeks ago
I'd love to be there. Given i live at what our former PM called "The ass end of the world" it might be hard for me to find the $ to be there...but hell i'd try!
I agree with james...just immagine a reunion show...we'd probably know everyone in the building!
#8979 Re: Guns N' Roses » Bucket found a collaborator in the CD sessions? » 931 weeks ago
Interesting...i was just thinking you know how Axl accused bucket of using GNR for his own personal gain on side projects or something like that, and generally I've always thought it was bullshit cos its not like bucket runs around talking about his time in GNR to promote himself. But maybe Axl ment collaboration wise? Like he used his time in GNR to make friends then went off and recorded solo tracks...just a theory. I'm not saying Axl is right or wromg, just i've never undersood how he could even figure that happened...maybe this is how. Like I can see why axl would be jealous of stuff..like the twat outro is cool and all...but its nothing on that ending to nottingham lace...
Hmmm...soothsayer and notthingham lace as GNR tues....fuck that would gave been some cool as shit. That notthigham lace solo has to be one of the coolest things recorded ever by any guitarist..i'd have loved to see Axl worked in somehow....
#8980 Re: Guns N' Roses » Bucket found a collaborator in the CD sessions? » 931 weeks ago
The co-writer of Nottingham Lace is right there next to Axl, all smiles.
Was that written before or after Bucket was involved with GNR? Just interested
