Exactly. I mean why would slash and duff put up with lateness and cancallations and those issues. If there were going to put up with that - then they might as well do it in GNR.

Same problem...i guess they have backlog as evreyone with a pc logs in for a free album!

haha...yeah I know about dissonance I was just being a smart ass wink

Although I must say I think Robin over uses it and while it was cool in NIN it sounded crap in AFD solos.

But everyone has a style of their own. I just think as your quote was saying - because people hear dissonence differently...I think there is a really fine line between adding a bit of colour and flavour with it - and it just sounding like you can't play wink

Anyone else having Tuning issues with this track?

#9205 Re: Guns N' Roses » The GNR/Chinese Democracy Frustration Thread » 941 weeks ago

Interesting. I gave up being a lawyer a few years ago as I hate it big time. Now i'm looking for a way to earn some cash doing things I'm actually interested in. Given my interests are guitar and movies it makes it a bit hard. I'm putting together a band in my spare time, but its not easy to earn a living that way, so looks like i'll be working some dead end jobs while I work out what to do with my life!

#9206 Re: Guns N' Roses » The GNR/Chinese Democracy Frustration Thread » 941 weeks ago

Ok i'll bite.

I'm fucking frustrated.

Why? Because they keep saying/implying the album is finished, yet we get no progress.

My views are this:

1. I wouldn't be expecting anything - except that people (like baz) said it exists and is awesome. So don't give me the "better to wait for jesus" and the stuff about not owing me anything. Its not about owing. Its about saying you have something or are going to do someting. then actually delivering on it. But i'm ok with a wait for something cool - if i wasnt i wouldnt have been here since the old band.

2. I was ok with delays and waits for the years its taking being recorded. why - cos i can understand creative bockages. Like merk said about the muse. I can understand maybe axl only had 2 days of work left but it took years to get in a frame of mind to do that. Whatever. Its artsy stuff - so I'm cool with that.

But what fucks me off - is that beta and everyone else keeps saying its done and that its all a business hold up. Now i used to be a lawyer and theres only so long I can let that excuse wash. The reality is any issue can be bargined and settled eventually. I think if the delay goes on into 2009 then we desrve some explaniation into the nature of the wait. Is it copyright clearance? Dispute over royalities? Paycheck issues?
It's maddening to just keep saying the album is done, then nothing happens and theres no reasons given as to why. Give me a real reason and i'll wait a lifetime...but at least give us that, even if we can't be given the album.

#9207 Re: Guns N' Roses » Kansas City radio station just played IRS... » 941 weeks ago

IRS starts slowly..but its fantastic by the end. "The Blues" also has that "yesterdays" style crossover GNR appeal to it I feel.

If only we'd get a real single. Immagine proper mastered versions of these songs. fuck it would be good.

#9208 Re: Guns N' Roses » This just on Blabbermouth » 941 weeks ago

I know i say this like once a week. But "It's five o'clock somewhere" is an AWESOME album from a guitar point of view.

As for selling out. It's insane and I agree with neemo. He isn't sold out, he is iconic. I love that slash working with others is considered selling out to modern rock crap, yet Axl trying to become trent from NIN isn't.

To me the relality is that Axl IS the best front man of a generation, and Slash IS the best guitarist of his style sound. Put them together and you'd again have the greatest band in the world.

Force them to be seperate and you'll still get amazing projects due to their seperate talents. But maybe not like the magic they can create together.

Cool vid...I love Buckethead, but sometime his music is a little too avante-garde for my tastes.  Incidentally, I've met his guitar teacher, Paul Gilbert, who's no slouch himself.

LOL 3 That's the understatement of the year...Gilbert is totally insane on guitar....

Back on topic...is the rest of the "From the Coup" album like this? Much shred stuff? I might have to get it if its all this cool.

I think soundgarden and audioslave are good bands...but neither of them can hold a candle to Slash.
