#921 Re: Guns N' Roses » Chinese Democracy Elimination- Round 3 » 932 weeks ago
This is getting harder and harder. What an incredible album this tracklist would make. I had to vote "The Blues." I love the song, but I'm really looking at this as a "you can only take one" kind of scenario. I guess "Prostitute" will be your loss, I can't defend it anymore. The "If the World" hate is puzzling, too. I see the newest leaks that fans are the most unfamiliar with are also the first to go. I would have thought the opposite, what with the others most likely being played out in most of our iPods by now. Whatever.

I voted for Rhiad simply to tip this in Prostitute's favor. You people are insane and buying into some anti-track #2 wave. It's one of the best leaks, period.

Dre owns all his own masters.
#924 Re: The Sunset Strip » Haute tension (2003) » 933 weeks ago
Haute tension is easily Aja's best film to date, although I was impressed with his Hills Have Eyes redux and look forward to Mirrors. I never took issue with the dubbing. When I saw it in theaters, you know, it's just something I'm used to dealing with. I watch the uncut, subtitled version on DVD, so I don't see the issue. I think Haute tension was an incredibly underrated slasher flick that unfortunately never found an audience in the States and thanks to films like Fight Club, it's perceived that the ending is something to be taken seriously when in fact the entire thing is little more than a gussied up Video Nasty. It's a superior slasher flick, what more can I say? It's one of the better horror films of the new millennium, which has been otherwise underwhelming.
#925 Re: The Sunset Strip » The STONE TEMPLE PILOTS Thread » 933 weeks ago
They just announced not too long ago a show coming up pretty soon around me on July 8th. While I once dreamed of seeing the reunited STP, Scott's immature behavior towards Axl ("Fat, botox faced, wig wearin' motherfucker"), the members of Velvet Revolver, and most importantly the fans, has left me in no great hurry to check this one out. I've got work that day and can't be bothered to miss any to stroke Weiland's already gargantuan ego right now. Especially after some of the tour reports I've been hearing so far. Hey Scott, Axl Rose can go on late because he's Axl Fucking Rose. You're Scott Weiland. As much as you led yourself to believe you were Axl Rose during your tenure fronting his old band, you're not. Stop being a bitch.
#926 Re: Guns N' Roses » New song lyrics » 933 weeks ago
The song is Prostitute until GN'R themselves blatantly state otherwise. Even then, the song remains Prostitute until the back of the album says differently. I don't see the arguments as to how this somehow isn't Prostitute being as convincing as that it actually is.
#927 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Slash on new Alice Cooper Song "Vengeance is Mine" (audio) » 933 weeks ago
This one's dropping on CD, vinyl, and online same day in the US: July 29th. The Coop's playing a Halloween show in my area later in October, but the ticket's are just too overpriced for me and besides ... no general admission. It's a seated theater, all reserved, and no fun for me. Still, this album is a must-have.
#928 Re: Guns N' Roses » If Axl took up a cause? » 933 weeks ago
If Axl put his heart to a cause, I still believe in him enough to support that. That said, I think the only cause he should be taking up right now is the cause of getting his album out to the fans. That's a charitable proposition in and of itself.

Oh, if only my redheaded childhood hero were to sick the feds on me ... would be one of the most hurtful days of my life. I don't mean to do a disservice to GN'R but commenting on these leaks, but I hope they (or the record company) take into account that these are the band's fans we're talking about. The downloading motherfuckers may very well be the only "purchasing the album" motherfuckers when all is said and done.

I agree James, and that's the best part of there even being new leaks. The possibilities of favorites just keep multiplying. Also, I notice some songs that were once more highly regarded are beginning to lose their luster in light of essentially being burned out even before the album's been released. We as fans are burned out on some of these even before the general public has a real single. I think this thread is already an awful lot of fun.
