On the plus side, it helped propel an album like that to the otherwise unattainable sales it's achieved.
i've heard a few people claim that best buy deal did not hurt cd's sales but saying it helped cd's sales???
"otherwise unnattainable sales" ???
that's rediculous
the 3/4 of a million cd's best buy is now marking down would have been sold a long time ago if they were available everywhere.

Looks like it didn't do quite as poorly last week as projected. It did crack the top 50, at #42 selling just over 11K units.
Oh I see that nugnr fans have learned to humble themselves....
They've gone from predicting world domination by Chinese Democracy to being satisfied with 11,000 copies sold.

i did. the way it's worded you could have been referring to any album so i was left to assume you were referring to cd since that's what we are discussing.

i heard this tune today and it reminded me of the argument of CD tanking and the album going on sale already for best buy to liquidate their inventory

Not sure if that was targeted at me or not, but I never said GNR would rule the world once again. Nor did I say I was satisfied with 11K copies sold. My only point was that a few days ago it was not projected to make the top 50, and it actually did crack that in the end. Simple as that really, but nice try on reading into things.
