Whatever it is, it works for Axl. He's still alive and he seems to trust them. And he seems happy.

And they've got Universal and Livenation around them to guide them through the mechanics of  today's musical landscape.

I agree. TB gets a lot of hate, and I totally get it, but I do think they’ve kept Axl sane over the years and in the business. Granted they let him work at his own pace, and don’t seem to push him in any real way but he had lots of issues with managers before they took over and he was obviously fed up with the industry.

Who knows how much of it is incompetence on the part of TB or if it’s more Axl only wanting to do so much. I mean they had a damn drone light show to announce the tour in LA. Was that necessary? It’s like they want to do things but certainly not to the level of most bands their stature. Is that their fault or are they doing what they know they can get away with?

And by the way, I am really digging Slash’s work on Nothin’. Seems like a song Axl could pull off live too, until he gets to the high parts. Sounds great in studio, we’ll see in a live setting.

Re: Nothin'

Sites are being sent press releases detailing physical release

Beginning December 12, the two new singles will also be available for pre-order on seven-inch vinyl, a band-store-exclusive cassette, and a Japan-exclusive SHM-CD.

Wonder how that release will be screwed up lol

I’ve bought all 6 new song on iTunes but I haven’t bothered with any of these physical releases. I’m happy to fork over $15 for a full length CD or whatever they cost these days. But I’m not buying all these random packaged releases. To each their own though, there must be a market for them. I’m old school and to be honest I wouldn’t even buy the individual songs if I had any faith in them releasing an album. That ship called Faith sailed away long ago though.

Not that I expected these songs to be smash hits but they don’t appear in the iTunes Rock charts yet. Never mind the overall top 200. Are they still too new? I tend to remember their other recent singles at least climbing the charts initially before they were forgotten. “Perhaps” especially since there was an actual music video.

I guess it was just too early, Nothin’ is now #1 on the iTunes Rock chart & Atlas is #2. They’re all the way up to #5 & 6 on the overall chart. Initial buzz is there, but it won’t last when they do nothing with it.

Update, Nothin’ jumped up past All I Want for Christmas is You to get to #3 and Atlas is at #5. Interesting that Nothin’ is getting more love than Atlas. I wouldn’t have guessed that prior to hearing Nothin’ in full. Definitely agree though. Song is really growing on me. Doesn’t hurt that they were somehow able to keep that one under wraps all these years for the most part.

this is one area where I would just go digital and not bother with the disc/LP.  It’s a lot easier for me to just listen to it via ITunes (or whaterver digital music service) especially since the sound quality is similar.

When listening the first time, I was shocked they kept that Casio keyboard sound. Sweet baby Jesus.

Other than that, it's pretty good. Slash must have really liked it because he brought his A game to the solo.

Like all the other songs, it sounds like an unfinished song that was simply polished and released.

The post reunion years have revealed the true meaning of the A and B lists....

A list - Actual finished songs going on Chinese Democracy

B list - All the half finished songs, instrumentals, and fragments

Back in the prime years of the CD saga, fans assumed the A list was all the massive epics and the B list all the rockers.

I don't know if that's the case Monsters, Quick Song, Soul Monster, Oklahoma and Seven are still to come.
