Re: NFL 2025
Any of you guys watch the draft?
Biggest story seems to be the Rams picking Ty Simpson with that 13th pick.
Getting a lot of shit for it...most of which I agree with. He does NOTHING for a team in "win NOW" mode.
The other big story seems to be Vrabel doing everything in his power to destroy his career just as it was looking like he was going to be one of the top coaches of the coming decade.
It's amazing how reckless humans can be with their lives.
I stopped watching old NFL games and switched to 1990s NBA...focusing on the Bulls first 3peat. God what a golden age that was. Wow. That 93: Bulls vs Knicks series is probably peak NBA. Better than the finals.
Turns out this affair has been going on for SIX years before they got caught. She ( the reporter Russini) is finished . Vrabel is still safe but there are still stories coming out daily . He’s become a celebrity (in the worst way). Oh , I think if it turns out that one of Russini kids was his , he’s finished.
On that series , Knicks could never get passed CHI. Anyway, if you ever watched ,NBA on NBC in the 90s, they had a key play from this series in one of their intros . It was a Knicks home game (game 4 or 5) I think. Knicks are down by 2, some guy Charles Smith #54 gets the ball under the hoop and gets blocked once by the Bulls . Gets the ball back and get swatted from the back and blocked again. Think it was Jordan Or Pippen who blocked the second time

As a Pats fan who was very grateful for this revival season, I fucking love the Vrabel/Russini story.

Started the 93-94 NBA season. It's too long....gonna skip to the playoffs. While I do remember who went to the finals (Rockets vs Knicks) I'm looking forward to seeing how it led to that.
The 93-94 season is fascinating because it's the first post-Jordan year of the NBA. No one knew what would happen...and everything was completely wide open. I'm really anticipating how in the hell the Phoenix Suns shit the bed. With Jordan out of the way and Pippen having difficulties as the leader of the Bulls, the Suns had no excuses for not winning it all. Same with the Sonics.
Neither team gets to the finals.
Also looking forward to how the Eastern conference played out. The Hornets and Nets were teams on the rise...what happened? Cleveland too.
This is why the Bulls had a 2nd 3peat when Jordan came back. If you can't step up in his absence....the fuck you gonna do when he's back?
Re: NFL 2025
Here’s what I remember about that year : Seattle getting the 1 seed and CHOKING vs 8 seed Nuggets. That one image at the end of Mutumbo holding the ball and being in pure joy won’t be forgetten.
I don’t think Orlando truly had it together yet. They really should have been the contender to the throne after Jordan retired. From what I recall, the east just had a lot of teams that were the same. They all played “force basketball”. Charlotte w/Johnson and Mourning and Orlando were exceptions and fell by the wayside eventually.
And that season for better or worse ended up getting defined…by OJ and the chase.

Holy shit...I forgot this happened that season! In my memory, it happened the following season when Jordan came back right before the playoffs.
I'm gonna watch that series first.
Orlando needed Horace Grant a year earlier than they got him. If memory serves me correctly...this is still that period of Shaq's career where he couldn't make a free throw to save his life and all you had to do to fluster him was to keep fouling him.
Hardaway hadn't found his groove yet.
That whole organization (including the players) were too impatient....it's like they didn't realize they had the building blocks of a dynasty in place. Essentially locked in. Just needed to wait Jordan/Pippen out for their 3peat and just be happy with playoff appearances until then.
I hate Shaq but it was all over the moment they let him go. Such a colossal fuck up.
Crazy how their peak wound up being that 95 choke job against the Rockets.
