Re: And Here ... We ... Go.
Totally. I'm fairly younger too, and the only people that talk about Hinder, are the same ones that talk about Nicklesuck... my 36 year old aunt, who thinks she's cool.
Most 16 year old girls dig Kayne West & Katy Perry.
Don't you mean Nickelcrap? Rgardless of wether Hinder sucks or not or are relevant or not I still say they are entitled to their opinions just like the rest of us and shouldn't be bashed just cause they don't like CD. That's just childish and immature.
Re: And Here ... We ... Go.
Actually if you go and look back at Skid Row's catalog, Rachel & Snake wrote most of the songs. Baz might've had co-writing credits on about 7-8 tracks, over three albums of material.
Baz is a vocalist. Period. So was Elvis... but at least he was a showman.
Re: And Here ... We ... Go.
Hinder is a one hit wonder. Fortunately for them, there one hit was such a popular song that it opened up a door wide enough that even the pile of shit that was the rest of the album was able to squeeze on in to radio play.
never the less, what kind of rock band leads with a ballad?
the last one i can remember is steelheart!!!
New GNR is a better band than Hinder, plain and simple.

the point of it is that MTV makes a point of making their opinion known, like it is going to matter to any potential CD buyers.

Well that's cause MTV wants Hinder to be relevant cause the record companies told them so. Hence this is why the music industry is in the gutter right now and can't get out.
Re: And Here ... We ... Go.

Re: And Here ... We ... Go.
First off, I NEVER have said Slash didn't need Axl - quite the opposite as I've ALWAYS said that they needed each other and neither is close to as good as they were on their own as they were together. Look it up. End of that story.
You guys really think SCOM and NR are lyrical masterpieces? Wow is all I can say. A 10 year old could have written them to his first puppy love (especially SCOM). Wake up. Axl is not a fantastic singer (see his live performances as proof), he's not a magical song writer (see HIS whole body of work as proof - do you think he rerecorded some of the vocals for live era because they were good?). He is a fantastic frontman (entertainer) that can sing very well if given enough takes in the studio and is as well known (likely more well known, but I'll be generous) for the shit he does than ANYTHING he has accomplished musically.
I loved the old band as much as anybody. I can look at it objectively enough to call it what it was and enjoy it for what it was. Axl isn't a great singer but can put together songs very well. Slash is limited with what he can write as far as song structure goes (which happens to be Axl's strong point) but can fit solos to songs like nobody I have ever heard. Whoever said Axl can write rockers is nuts - Izzy mostly (and Slash/Duff a little) wrote the rockers. Axl didn't write them on CD either...thank Huge/BH/Finck for the couple that exist. You guys are so far lost in denial it is not even funny.

Denial? You're the one saying he's not a great singer. I don't know anyone who's a fan of the new band on here who doesn't also respect the hell out of Slash's ability on the guitar. Axl is a great singer. The only denial going on here is with your insistence that he isn't.
Re: And Here ... We ... Go.
There we go folks, if you like CD, you're in denial. I knew I could count on you buzzsaw to tell us how we should feel. Kudos for sticking by your "turd in the punchbowl" MO. I would have given up by now, but you should be commended for not relenting.
