This is hogwash. There is a myspace page I know they can use to update the tour status. In addition, we know that Axl browses the forums. He could easily dispatch Beta or Fernando to provide info on the tour. Or he could do that himself. He could also set up a twitter account and tweet whatever he pleases on the upcoming tour. This is just laziness as usual.

I ended up getting a regular flu shot around a month ago. A couple of weeks later I came down with a really shitty case of the flu (infected throat, mucus, cough and all types of nasal problems). I'd just as soon avoid getting it since I'm not sure it makes that much of a difference to me anyway.
I'm still not sure how anyone differentiates between H1N1 and the regular seasonal flu both their symptoms sound the same.

If I see one more tv spot on A-Hole I'll puke......fuck A-Rod. All the praise and attention should go to Pettitte, Jeter, Posada and Rivera. Homegrown ball players who came up in the Yankee organization. Congrats to them on their fifth ring. A-Rod should be giving some of his overpaid bank account to those cats.
Spot on on Arod. I read parts of Joe Torre's bio a month ago at a Barnes and Noble. Arod comes off as a gigantic douchebag and phony in that book.
They do have a great young pitcher in the minors (Kyle Drabek, son of Pitt Pirate Doug Drabek) who will almost certainly be in the starting 5, and if Cole can get back we should be set there. There's a HR hitting OF in the minors too, for the bench (get rid of Matt Stairs). So all we need is 2 or 3 solid relievers, one being a closer.
Sucks the Yankees won, but they won it. I agree the Yankees Red Sox is played out. Although I sometimes do get into them. I think the Big 10 does get hype, but personally I think the SEC gets equal or more coverage. Although, admittedly I think the SEC is better than the Big 10 anyway.
Sigh. Doug Drabek a pitcher for the Pirates when they actually won division titles. Glad to see his son turn it around as I think he had problems a few years ago. Which HR hitting minor league OF are you talking about for the Phillies--Dominic Brown or Michael Taylor? They have the luxury of having two of them along with Jason Werth, Ibanez, and Victorino at the major league level. Ideally, one of them should replace Ibanez after his contract expires. There are several closers on the market--Soriano, Valverde, Gonzalez--and a few in the trade market too. The performance of relievers fluctuate, so I'm always wary of tossing big cash at middle relievers.
SEC is better than Big Ten though, they have won the last 3 National Championships. Big Ten always comes up short in Major Bowl Games (OSU
championship in 2002 withstanding) and their weaknesses always get exposed
(lack of athletes, explosiveness, speed etc.)
#1484 Re: The Sunset Strip » Illegal downloaders spend MORE on music than those who obey the law » 862 weeks ago
I don't download that much music but if the record and movie industry would make some of the stuff I like more accessible instead of cramming that mainstream stuff down the consumer's throat I would actually buy a bit more. Funny how they never mention how leaks of products leads to good word of mouth/reviews and help create a buzz. I think you guys were mentioning Paranormal Activity in a horrorshow thread and that movie definitely benefited from illegal downloaders spreading a good word of mouth on the product.

The Titans won because of Chris Brown, not Young. Come on guys, the Jags suck. Vince is still going to self destruct as starter, but the Titans should have put some wildcat packages together in a game (not warm ups) for VY that would utilize his talents and give the offense a boost and they wouldn't be in this position.
And no QB is going to succeed with the Titans WR's. Especially with that awful defense that makes you constantly have to play catch up.
I was really rooting for Alex Smith today and he looked really good. That's such a heartbreaker that they lose the way they did.
Is it too early to call a Vikings/Colts superbowl?
Kerry Collins can't move and when he gets blitzed up the middle he either gets sacked/fumbles or throws it toward the waterboy on the sidelines or a bad int. Vince can at least move and get a few first downs with his legs. Teams have to respect that and and that gives the rbs (mostly Chris Johnson) more chance to operate. If he keeps a few drives alive with his legs, that'll keep the shitty pass d off the field.
Regarding the Titan WR's they're actually better than they were in 2007 when he last started. They were awful that year.
Vikings and Colts both have red flags they have to overcome. Colts have never fared well in the playoffs as a top seed with home field. The book on how to beat them is pretty simple: Play cover 2 and limit the amount of big pass plays. Pressure Manning and get him out of a comfort zone. Play smash mouth running on offense to keep their smaller d line on the field and tire them out. I think the Broncos, Bengals, Ravens, and Steelers have the formula to beat them. I'd list the Pats too but their running game is suspect.
On the Vikings: Farve has fallen apart in the latter part of the season the last few years. Karl Paymah sucks, if he has to play an extended amount of time their defense will suffer. Their defense has given up a lot of 4th quarter points. They still have to beat the Saints (if it comes to that) and the Saints have Darren Sharper who played with MIN last few years and knows their schemes. I think Philly, NYG, Chicago, and maybe ARZ have good chances of advancing to the Super Bowl out of the WC round as they all posess the formula to win in the postseason.

Did I mention that defense BLOWS?
They really need an edge rusher as the two guys they depend on (Porter and Taylor) are getting old. The secondary (mainly the CBs) is young and they have a legitemate excuse there. A big DT wouldn't hurt either.
Thank God the Bears won. They would have been in major trouble had they lost to Cleveland. The win is nothing to write home about, but when you are trying to stay in the playoff hunt, you cant lose the easy games. The Packers lost to the Vikings which puts the Bears in good position. The NFC West is a cesspool, so the Bears are easily have their eyes on one of those two wildcard spots, which is pretty much guaranteed to go to Chicago, Minnesota, or Green Bay.
Their best chance is to hope that the NFC East teams beat the crap out of each other and they have to take care of business. Next 2 games will be critical as they play the up and down Cardinals and go fly cross country to play the 49ers on the 12th. That's 2 games in 4 days and a flight to the west coast to boot. The schedule makers didn't give them any breaks there. BTW, I think Cleveland might be the most boring team in the league to watch. Yuck.
Congrats to the Titans for putting Young in the game. That should have happened at the beginning of the season.
Too bad it took the owner essentially forcing Fisher to do this, otherwise I'd have to sit through another awful Kerry Collins performance. Only the Bucs remain in the winless column.

tejastech08 wrote:Annie Hall. Very good flick.
One of the best flicks from the 70s. Probably deserved a spot in our Movie Madness.
I hated Woody Allen when I was a kid. My mom watched his films all the time. When I was older, I was at the library and checked out Annie Hall. I "got it". Immediately started diving into the rest of his filmography. He's got a few duds, but his gems more than make up for it.
I think he should have quit after Mighty Aphrodite. Would have been a great Swan Song to his career.
Have you watched Manhattan Murder Mystery? Killer movie. It was released with little attention which is unfortunate because its what Annie Hall was supposed to be. Annie Hall initially had an almost identical murder mystery as a subplot, but was completely removed before its release. I hope before he dies that he releases an unedited version of the flick. Its probably a mess, but I'd like to see it anyways. Also, pretty sure that Murder Mystery was intended as a sequel to Annie Hall, but backed out of the idea while writing it.
My favorite Woodie Allen movies:
Broadway Danny Rose
Annie Hall
Manhattan
Play It Again Sam
Manhattan Murder Mystery
Hannah and her Sisters
Mighty AphroditeSome of his other films are good(Sleeper, Take the Money and Run, Bananas), but the above is the cream of his crop. Some people rave on Zelig, but I don't like it although it was definitely groundbreaking for its time.
I don't like his dramas.
I've seen most of his films and for some reason I can't get into Annie Hall when I try to watch it a second time. Manhattan either. For some reason, I dig Hannah and her Sisters. Haven't seen Broadway Danny Rose or Manhattan Murder Mystery. I'd add Bullets over Broadway on that list too as I enjoyed that one.
Of the dramatic output, Crimes and Misdeamors and Match Point are standouts for me. I liked last year's Vicky Christina Barcelona too. I haven't seen Whatever works I think it's a comedy though. I really hated Husbands and Wives though.
Wow, you reminded me that I watched The Curse of the Jade Scorpion the other day and it was MUCH better than I expected.
I saw this when it came out in the theater (2001) and thought it was an okay film. Rewatched it a week ago and enjoyed it a whole lot more. Underrated film, worth viewing just for Charlize Theron and her Veronica Lake look.
Anyway watched Suspiria on Halloween night. Some parts good some parts cheesy.

Thansk CC, I'.ll owe you one. Yes, Cliff Lee was LIGHTS OUT!! Gotta give him major kudos, fan or not, he was awesome.
A-Roid went down bad tonight, Did he have 3 strikeouts?! Texiera's just an afterthought anyway. Phillies have 3 or 4 hitters better than him anyway, they just don't/can't pay them $20 million/year. I like Pedro in NY Game 2 too. Let's rock!
Couple things: I still can't believe that the Phillies got Lee for essentially a B Level Pitching Prospect (Carrasco), B Level Middle Infielder (Donald), replaceable catcher (Marson) and an young pitcher with upside (Jason Knapp). Lee even had a year remaining too! The Indians at least got a top hitting prospect in LaPorta with the Sabbathia trade. Unbelievable, they got to keep like their top 3 prospects. Meanwhile, Riccardi was still asking for the moon for Halladay.
I don't know about Pedro in Game Two as he has traditionally struggled there. But he does have the advantage of his arm being relatively fresh.
Phillies lineup is stacked anyway with Utley, Howard (his salary is getting high though), Werth and Ibanez. They got Werth and Victorino for cheap. As for Howard he almost got traded in 2005 to the Pirates for Kip Wells (I think Benson was also rumored but there was definitely a Wells-Howard proposal) but Dumbass Littlefield thought that he had a future 1B in Brad Eldred (he like many pirates ending up sucking in the major) so he declined. I guess Ed Wade dodged a bullet there.
Anyway, go phils.
#1490 Re: The Garden » The Phillies get to take on THE YANKEES!! » 863 weeks ago
Phillies in 6. Their lineup has a lot more thump than Angels or Twins. Pettite struggles against LH hitters as well (RH hitters hit for a higher avg vs him).
