Regardless of the quality, I'd love to hear a soundboard recording of the song. It's a damn shame that we never managed to get one.

God, I hope we get another leak, that'd be ace.

If there's any double-dipping, I'll be downloading the tracks. I won't stand for that shit. Having said that, if there's a US-only special edition available, I might ask one of our lovely US-based people here to pick me up a copy and Paypal the money over to 'em.

If there's a super-duper special edition with extra bonus tracks, it'll likely be a US exclusive. Us poor mugs outside the US will have to either pony up for a second-hand copy on eBay or amazon or wherever, or come begging in the forums for the extra stuff. Whereupon a hundred self-righteous assholes will descend upon us, shouting "U SHULD BUY IT UR NOT A TRUE FAN!!!!111!111!zomg". These people having completely failed to register that, yes, we have paid Axl for the standard edition, and if we buy an import copy of the special edition, Axl won't see a cent more; some asshole on eBay will be creaming a few dollars off us, though.

Comparing The Beatles to GnR is a joke. The Beatles evolved together musically, Axl fired everybody (or drove them out...whatever makes the Axl lovers happy) to create his version of GnR. This would be like McCartney getting rid of the other Beatles and releasing the Wings' albums as Beatles albums.
As an aside, the Beatles came very close to "reforming" in the 70s without Paul. IIRC the line-up was John, George, Ringo, Billy Preston and Klaus Voorman - they got together to do one song on one of the solo albums and nearly ended up teaming up. I supposed that'd be more like Velvet Revolver than the present GN'R, though.

Arsebum. I just saw DiCaprio and assumed it'd be Titanic 2. Thought it was that one with Winslet that he's done recently...

Wonder if the worldwide release date will be November 24th or December 1st.
Oh, and I think it was inevitable that the album would go to Best Buy over Wal-Mart. Can you honestly imagine Axl allowing his magnum opus, 15 years in the making, to be bowdlerized by Wal-Mart? After all that he's been through to complete the thing?

Hey, it's a chick flick, right? Make a date of it. The lady'll think you're all sensitive and in touch with your feminine side (plus you buy a bit of credit for a Man Film), and you get the GN'R song at the end.
All-round Win.

I actually think the leaks over the past few years might've had an impact in this matter. I mean, I could imagine Better was going to be the first single, but after the leaks it was overfamiliar to the public (yeah, I know relatively speaking not that many people have heard it, but there's been a bit of buzzkill). Likewise Chinese Democracy or TWAT. And as a result, we might end up in the extraordinary situation of having Axl's flamenco pornfunk odyssey being the first single off his comeback album. Weird.

Oh, thank Christ for that, they've put BBF's fretless on the Chinese Democracy verses.
Looking forward to the final album - I think I'm going to hold off on listening to the existing leaks until the actual album comes out, now.
And hopefully, once the album comes out, we'll start to see leaks of the WIP versions (I really, really want to hear the 1999 incarnation of the album, 'cause I love that version of IRS).
