#281 Re: Guns N' Roses » UYI Box tracklist unveiled? » 184 weeks ago

I personally didn't care for it too much.  I thought the orchestra part was too high in the mix and it almost seemed like a totally different song.  Of course, people might like this aspect and love the remixed song and I get that.

Honestly, just treat it like a flu or bad cold.   It sounds like you guys aren't doing too bad.
Did your aunt have preexisting medical conditions or was elderly?

Am I the only one who really liked Circus Maximus from the leaks?

Cmon, now let's be honest.  You know they would need like big majorities to get stuff done.  Slim majorities mean nothing or gridlock.

I think GOP obviously takes the House and Dems retain control of the senate or at worst ends up 50-50.  I haven't looked at everything so the Senate stuff could be out of whack.

After what happened with abortion, I'm surprised the GOP is expected to pull off a win.

It really shows the attention span of the public... abortion is ancient history now.

I don't know... maybe the world not ending after it happened like predicted played into their hands after all.

We'll see.....

It always was a narrow issue.  It matters but not as much in localized/Senate/House races.  To me it never was the people mover, the issue where some would get out to vote sort of thing.

When I had it earlier this year it sucked, but only one day stood as really bad. Felt crushed by it for a whole day, can't recall being that sick in a long time.

I caught it earlier this year as well, like in Feb.  I definitely had one of those days where you feel totally tired and bereft of energy.

For all you that have recently caught it, get well soon.

Bret was so fucking good. Watch his leg when he gets hit by that moonsault outside. Yikes!

Yeah.  Bret just knew how to sell the psychology of wrestling better than anyone.  I rewatch the famous Wrestlemania match with Austin a few times a year.  And Bret knows how to work over a body part better than anyone.  Didn't matter who, Austin, Nash etc.

For fuck sake. Why is GN’R (Axl), such a shit show? Slash doesn’t know how many songs he redid? And now it’s not gonna be an album, but just a couple more songs?

What happened to all the talk about hundreds of unreleased songs, but Slash and Duff were only able to rework a half dozen of those?

And then… Slash says they’ll start work on a new album AFTER next year’s Summer tour? So what, start in late 2023? Only to finally come out in 2030???

Fuck these guys (Axl), move slow.

They should’ve been doing all the shit while the world was in lockdown and they couldn’t tour for close to 2 years.

Bloody hopeless.

LOL, this is the only "band" that has fucking problems recording and releasing music at this point.  Even bands with a quarter of the money and notoriety know how to operate this basic action.

I guess he may want to record new music with the band but I'm doubtful these guys can write anything decent without Izzy.

I guess the 2-4 new songs would be ok as long as they aren't the quality of Absurd.

Oh man, that Spuds McKenzie commercial takes me back.  So does the timeless Toys R' Us theme song.

Yeah, products today in certain industries definitely aren't as good (cough...insert your favorite fast food joint).

This is why the rise of GNR is fascinating.  Especially for those of us who saw it.    They were basically street urchins who hit the stratosphere and made it BIG. And almost every member had some sort of debilating issue (even Izzy).  There was a certain danger or volatility factor that just didn't exist in the late 80s.

Yep...60 Minutes and Murder, She Wrote.

Funny how stuff like that sticks in your head.

I wouldn't be able to tell you what comes on after football now with a gun to my head. Nothing is truly memorable anymore. I was talking about this a few days ago with a friend....how back in the day, commercials were so lively and catchy with their jingles to the point they become lifelong earworms. Now most commercials are drugs, cars, and fast food and you forget em as soon as they leave the screen.

I thought about the last part and it's because those commercials just features celebrities and they don't tell you that much about the product.  Also, there's a kind of "too cool for school" humor that rubs me the wrong way in most of these commercials.

Remember that really old Tootsie roll commercial with the Owl and the kid?  That thing has more staying power than most of the commercials for the past 15 years.
