#321 Re: Guns N' Roses » GUNS N' ROSES Rumor: IZZY STRADLIN To Take Limited Role In Reunion Rea » 525 weeks ago
I don't think people complaining about Izzy is hipster bullshit.
Why Izzy is important is because he brings the songwriting factor.
Now of course one can argue he can still do it with the boys if he isn't there full-time.
However, having Izzy tour with you puts you in a situation where they have more opportunities to discuss potential ideas for when they ever get back into the studio. Or he could be like oh yeah, I've got this sexy ass riff / lyric / song. What do you think of this sugar tits?
That's why Izzy is so important. He brings that.
Yes he has toured with GN'R for ten years on and off.
Also, correct me if I am wrong but, after Axl, Izzy has the most songwriting contributions to Guns N' Roses.
No Steven Adler is fine by me. Guy is a train wreck. If I was crying over that dude it would definitely be hipster bullshit. As he is by far the easiest person to replace. Not reliable in the least. And a loose cannon.

For those going to Las Vegas you should call: "World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop" and ask about Battle Toads, ha.
#323 Re: Guns N' Roses » Something is up with Pitman » 529 weeks ago
I don't hate Pittman.
But really dude needs to check his ego and realize he is not as important as: Axl, Slash, Duff, and Izzy (If he is back).
#324 Re: Guns N' Roses » Looks like rehearsals have started! » 530 weeks ago
I'm not trying to be a bitch here or a Axl lover.
As I was a huge fan of the Buckethead and Robin Finck era. It hurt when those fucks left. And they replaced Finck with that mother fucking cunt DJ Ashba. I hated that guy huge.
Anyhow, long story short. I will take Axl Rose on a bad day over shit like Myles Kennedy. I saw some videos of him singing GN'R tracks and it is painful.
No emotion, no feel and the lack of intensity.
Even when Mr. Rose phones it in, he's still the only one that I think can sing Guns songs.
The energy too.
Iggy Pop is the only rock star that comes close to the magic I saw in 2002 and 2006.
Again just some guy's opinion.
But wow I hope during the reunion there is no special guest of Myles Kennedy. Cause' I almost hate that guy as much as Ashba, almost.
#325 Re: Guns N' Roses » How much of the board actually believes a reunion will happen? » 537 weeks ago
This is pretty incredible. Slash show in India within the last week. Crowd sings the song loudly and they even hum Slash's "slow solo" during the earlier part of the song.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXjUMWfPwwo&hd=1
That's one way to cover up a bad vocalist (though Myles is actually very good on Sweet Child compared to other GN'R songs).
Sorry that is fucking lame.
I never want to go to a Guns show were the fans hum any shit.
Also, Myles Kennedy fucking blows worse than a hurricane.
I hate that cunt. His singing sucks.
I rather take Axl Rose on a bad day than here any fuck attempt to sing Guns N' Roses songs.
I hope no full on reunion happens. Bring back Finck or Bucket. Add Duff and bring out CD2 if Tommy has quit and been a bitch.
#326 Re: Guns N' Roses » As the reunion rumors are on a treadmill... » 545 weeks ago
I don't mean to be an asshole here, but who gives a shit about Steven Adler? Honestly? How many song-writing credits does he have? Is he a cornerstone of the band?
Well he lacks any substantial credits, and clearly was replaceable with Matt Sorum. To conclude, the guy doesn't matter.
If a reunion were to happen, he would be a huge liability.
The guy is stuck in the past.
When I think of key Guns members from the past I think of: Axl (1 in songwriting credits), Izzy (number 2 in credits), Slash, and then Duff.
I never am like, who Steven Adler, that guy rocks Guns' needs him.
The drumming position is very replaceable.
I am personally hoping, the Rose just gets back with Finck and Buckethead. Dream a little dream here.
#327 Re: Guns N' Roses » Question to fans of 01-02 lineup... » 550 weeks ago
I saw Guns in 2002 in Toronto at the ACC and 06 in NYC.
Bucket was the highlight. Axl sure wasn't that stylish, but, he sounded great. Watching him run around was amazing.
Then Buckethead left and it felt different, maybe, he'd come back. It didn't happen. Robin was still there it felt all right. Once he left, I threw in the towel.
Either reunite or get Buckethead and the Finck Tank back. No half-measure Axl.
Time is wasting.
Likely won't be able to do what you could have done in 2002. I'd respect the band more if he brought back Bucket and Finck. And finish what he was going to do with an incredibly talented line up.
It seems highly unlikely. As the past is a great indication.
Axl Rose reminds me of a Brian Wilson figure. Extremely talented, but self-doubt and depression have derailed the guy.
Maybe it is a good time to call Buckethead up, after all dude has been through a lot.
Hard Times should be a the follow up's name. A nod to the great Charles Dickens book and the amount of time and effort spent on the album.
#328 Re: Guns N' Roses » DJ has left GNR » 553 weeks ago
Wow is it Christmas in August?
I hated this cunt "DJ Ashba" from day one. I thought who is this fucking poser? With shitty tattoos and a weird top hat? Oh it is some fuck I give two shits about because Robin Finck wasn't in the band any longer.
The dude seemed to want to be in the band for his own personal gain.
Also, it was like what the fuck? I thought you were going in a more industrial / grunge / queen / avant-garde type of rock Axl? Why the fuck would you hire a guy who plays in Nikki Sixx's shitty Motley Crue wannabe rock band?
So good riddance to this fuck.
I seriously hated him from day one, and the band turned me off big time when this guy joined.
I hope for a Robin return, with Buckethead and if not count me in on this whole reunion talk.
As you either get your core guitarists back from your era Axl or just stop. As their is no need for anymore new assholes.
Bring back fucking Robin. It is the right call and yeah some people don't like him. Well his finger prints are all on Chinese Democracy and everything since 1998 that we haven't heard.
To conclude, Fuck you Ashba.
And mods sorry if was using offensive speech, but I really hated fucking Ashba in this band.
Bring back Robin, Axl. I'm rooting for you again. Maybe a touch of Buckethead and you can never go wrong with a Slash.
For the record I saw the band in 2002 with the almost classic Chinese lineup (no Tobias) and in New York in 2006 with Izzy Stradlin's guest appearance since leaving the band.
#329 Re: The Sunset Strip » What Are You Listening To? » 568 weeks ago
Sharon Van Etten. I've been loving her stuff. The album: Tramp is phenomenal if it is your cup of tea.
Also, I've been loving the Smashing Pumpkins single: Drum + Fife.
#330 Re: Guns N' Roses » Ron stirs tempest in a teapot » 568 weeks ago
Buckethead coming back would be the best option for the band.
It would feel that music was moving forward and not backwards.
Hell even Robin Finck coming back would be great.
I hate Ashba. Ron is a nice bland guy.
What got me excited about the band was Buckethead and Finck. I stopped following when Finck left again, as what was the point?
Ashba just comes off as a shitty hair metal fuck.
The whole point of post Illusions to me, was that Axl was going to make: industrial, grunge with Queen overtures kind of rock. He wasn't going to stay in the formula of bluesy dirty rock that defined them.
So when Ashba comes in. I'm like what the fuck dude?
If one of the two Chinese Democracy guitarists come back I am back.
Other than that, I have no interest in some asshole trying to be Slash with a shit load of tattoos and a crappy rip off top hat. Hot Topic called they want your shitty look back bro.
Back on topic, Ron sounds like a son of a bitch in the interview.
