I gotta say that the time I met him, even tho it was only for a few minutes he seemed like a great guy.  There was only myself and a mate there and we caught him in the hotel lobby after coming back from their days activities (the day after the gig) and he was very friendly, chatty, posed for photos with us and signed a number of things for us.

He was funny and humble, not an arrogant wanker that the media portrays, although I have no doubt he can be.  But then again so can I at times wink

Anyhow, he definitely seemed like the sort of guy that would be interesting and funny to get on the piss with.

I just find the facination with Axl being in a club kinda odd.  As though it's like seeing a sasquatch or something.

Spotting him out acting like a normal person is like seeing a Sasquatch 16

I was more surprised though that I didn't see any of the usual Clingons in the vid. Maybe he climbed out his window late at night when they weren't looking.

He seems like he was having a good time and was in good spirits.  Good on him!

Sadly the silence in the GNR section was deafening.  I noticed that too.

But the activity in the off topic discussion showed me that it wasn't a problem with the board (people were still logging in) just a problem perhaps with the band and the current state of play wink

I still think Bach would be good for VR.

I know he carries on like an exitable puppy dog, but he certaintly has the pipes for it.

Im still convinced they actually offered him the gig a few years ago.  Remember when Bach was on the radio doing an interview and he got a text message and he kept going "Fuck" "Fuck" and talked cryptically about it being potentially life changing and whatever other over the top adjectives he likes to use when he talks.  But he wouldn't say exactly what it was.  I think it was the VR guys offering him the job.  But he turned it down coz he was touring and matey with Ax.

Slash would probably like to play a song like Locomotive, but that and some of the other UYI songs have so many lyrics they are probably too much for someone like Myles (or probably anybody) to sing or remember.

I think all this touring over the last year has worn him out and his voice out....alot of partying as well.

That's a good point, he might actually have just over done it a bit.

Sure he's not as good as he was in the 90's, but I don't expect that either.  But maybe he needs to give his throat a break.

Hopefully he doesn't wind back the partying tho if indeed he has been hitting it hard.  I think that's good for him, seems like a normal social activity that he could probably use more of. It might keep him a bit more grounded and less uptight.

I would love to see some remixing of UYI one day. Now that would be the tricky thing. I would love to hear a stripped down re-mixed, re-released UYI. Something that removes ALL vocal special effects and voice over garbage, and is just GN'R rocking.

Aussie,

Do you remember the Alan Niven tapes? I recall them being a stripped-down affair, musically a grand display of the band at its peak.

UYI stuff or AFD stuff?
