Just because we've been talking about and waiting for CD doesn't mean the rest of the record buying public has been. I think a lot of people are over-estimating the power of a few people on the internet. CD selling well is far from a sure thing...that may not have been the case a few years ago, but it is now.

A story about the band's rise? There's one I haven't heard before. Real original, Playboy.
Hell, a lot of us on here could write that and make it more interesting. Even some of our posts here are more informative than another rise-of-the Guns story.
Yeah, but our pictures probably wouldn't be as nice.

It seems most on there are dissappointed it's not a classic GNR track but are hopeful the deal between GNR and RB2 means the classics will become downloadable later. As psyched as we are, GNR still have a mountain to climb to get Joe public on board with this.
I predicted that would happen with the gamers... They want classic songs THEY KNOW, its more fun that way. When you have people over your house, they want to play stuff they all know. Like Sweet Child O'Mine... When some girl sees, "Shackler's Revenge".......SKIP.
Exactly. I got through GH on easy as fast as I could so I could go back and play whatever I wanted to play on whatever level I wanted in practice or with friends.

You forgot to mention all of the current and recently departed members...some of them haven't seen him in awhile either.

I bet there are a dozen people on this site who could punch out the rhythm parts on AFD flawlessly, especially if they wer sharing the duty with another player.
Me...pick me!!!

Well, I don't know anything about the subject, but I would create an outline hitting on every point that they've asked you to cover. You may not have time to hit everything, but you want to be prepared for everything. When you begin the presentation, I would give a quick overview of your thoughts and try to read your audience to see what seems more interesting to them. If you can pin them down to a couple points, spend most of your time on those subjects explaining in detail your thoughts. If you can't judge where their focus is, hit as many of the topics as you can briefly focusing on the ones you feel most confident in and comfortable with. Be sure to always include some specifics so that they know you really know the subject rather than using a few key buzz words that anybody can use.
Generally speaking, these exercises are more about how you handle the situation than they are the substance of what you're saying. You can't possibly make a full presentation on that issue in 10 minutes and they know that. Be brief, but specific. Give detail, but don't linger. Handle yourself with confidence. Close by saying something to the effect of "this is a brief synopsis of my thoughts and I'd be happy to address the issues in more detail" to let them know you aren't afraid to tackle the issue more in depth than you can in 10 minutes.

Are you going to know in advance what the presentation is on?
#6138 Re: Guns N' Roses » POLL: BH Returning? » 930 weeks ago
i voted yes but only because i want him back, not because i really think he's gonna be back.
Hopefully that's the only reason most people voted yes. Otherwise we've lost our collective minds.
#6139 Re: Guns N' Roses » POLL: BH Returning? » 930 weeks ago
Releasing a BH-dominated record, or even one with just some BH shining here and there would be stupid without having him in the band again. Imagine... the best moments are played by someone who left the band 4-5 years ago... Only one thing would be even more stupid: release an album without BH, who clearly has the best moment in the new songs - even though his role isn't more than a guest musician, his parts are mostly out of the songs, if you know what I mean... but it means that these are out of the mediocrity as well, which is a good thing. Without BH this band is nothing musically.
Be prepared for stupid. If you stop and think about it, it's really not any more stupid than the rest of the 20+ year saga that is Guns N' Roses and certainly not worse than the past 14 years.
